OK! Cough it up! How many of you sons of silly people enjoy Hard Gay? And what about Borat? Well, Hentai Kamen can only be described as what would happen if those two ever met up and had a justice-loving, fishnet stocking-wearing son. First off, the story. The idea behind UHK is mostly a (perverted) parody of the Kamen Hero types, so the writer pulled together a laid-back story that is entertaining, hilarious and a genuinly fun read. The one-shot story base for the series still is able to hold up a story-line, through the basic techniques of character introductions on the right moment, and recyclingof villans; There's a loose timeline, but one nonetheless, just like in classics like Ranma 1/2. Stereotypes? Yes! As I said, this is a parody, and these sterotypes get played on, but fortunatly, not so much as to make the characters too stale or predictable, and a good few of them can really stick to the reader. Needless to say, Hentai Kamen leaves quite the aftertaste, and is quite a memorable hero. The timing on the puns is perfectly coordinated, and most of the chapters will have you laughing your head off at a regular schedule, specially when Hentai Kamen lands a killing blow (or a pun on his, how to say, weapon of mass justice). The art is exactly as comedy manga should have it (at least in my opinion), simple designs with a bit of a early 90's feel to them, always clean and clear, and the author has proven on several times that he can also make a few good action scenes, and draw muscular characters quite well. The art helps keep your attention on the situation, neither so intricate that it overwhelms the situation, neither so simple as to detract from it, and carries a whole simple charm to it. All in all, it's kind of a cross between early Rumiko Takahashi and Akira Toryama. Maybe the series should have been longer, maybe it's just the right size, but overall, this is a good series to shut your brain down, relax and enjoy. Good, plain, fun.
Kyousuke wants to be a cop. Because of that, he always tries to do the right thing and help others out. Well, while saving a girl from some bullies, they end up liking each other. Not to soon after, she needs saving again, and he ends up with woman's panties over his head, giving him super strength (pumped with horniness.) Not your normal super hero. (Source: MU)
UHK is a big WTF moment. But for some reason it works and its met to be that way as its a parody of a certain type of heroes called kamen. I enjoy this as I feel the author knew what he is doing. Here is why I enjoy it. Story:9/10 The story well its mostly episodic and doesn't follow any arc. But I realized its met to be laid back and just go with the flow. It follows Kyousuke Shikijou who wants to be a police like his dad. One day while a bank robbery, he got a pair of girls underwear and became thehentai kamen. One part I like are the joke they put in. Even if I don't understand since I don't know what a kamen super hero is, I still laugh. One problem I had with this is the ending as while I don't want a complex ending just a average ending is nice but it goes to a new story that is gone out of no where! go check the last chapter and you'll see what I mean. For plot it did well for us to just lay back. Art:7/10 This is a parody so the art doesn't need to be spectacular. It is consistent and helps make the jokes funny. They also has a good feel of the 90's which makes it all great. But sometimes it can look stale at some parts which really can bring it down. The action scenes are really nice and well drawn for a parody. So art while a bit stale, it fits. Characters:9/10 Every character is very stereotypical but it works. They fit into the jokes which gives them personality. Luckily this does not make them bad or overdone. In fact it feels like they are the entire joke of themselves which makes it more for laughs. So Characters are great in this series. Enjoyment:10/10 I'm not gonna lie. When I first saw this, I thought it was gonna suck but when I read it, its turns out into a great funny series. I recommend this for those who like parodies. Overall:9/10 Almost being perfect
My first reaction to Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen was this : "Is is like...porn or something?" because my first impression of it was one of those pornographic Kamen Rider doujinishi you could find on Fakku (don't ask me how I know, it was just a phase I was going trough). Surprisingly, Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen was far from that, althought containing a small fragment of sexual content, it was something I could read without putting my hand in my pants or vomitting. Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen represents one of those mangas I actually enjoy reading and was worth my time. It was like reading Family Guy but in amore Japanese, sexually related, superhero like way. Truly remarkable and f*cking funny. The thing is, Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen was a little like those mangas that is kinda episodic and has no direction. All you need to know is that the main character gets his powers by putting on a pair of panties and has those really long-named, penis related finishing moves. The artwork is bearable but nothing too special about it. Kinda like your average manga. It is not as shitty as the Samurai Champloo manga but nothing too special either. Just normal. The characters in the other hand represent your classic school life characters with a few more additonal features added to them making them unique and one of a kind. Hey, just name me one manga that has a mother that owns a boutiqe and works part time as a S&M mistress. The enjoyment factor is at a maximum as the comedy factor is strong as well. It will have you shitting your pants laughing and you will enjoy it more if you are a pervert yourself (you sick bastard...). The violence count is at a minimum and surprisingly, a medium level sexual explicity count (shounen readers, rejoice!!!). In short, Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen is a comedic masterpeice that although lacking in story, proves itself in the comedy factor. A good read for those who want to releive stress and have a really good laugh. 9/10.
