A simply AMAZING read. A fresh gulp of air from the typical yaoi manga, with a structured plot that is both easy to get into and hard to get away from. Unlike many yaoi manga I've read in the past this one really stands out, and not for the usual reasons either. "The cute couple," or "the great sex scenes," no, this was truly a very interesting and well thought out story! The idea of a single male taking care of his daughter in yaoi manga, the plot in itself is already so original, an untapped market! The characters are also very charming and easyto get along with, despite my trouble with remembering names in manga, it was quite easy to remember everyone's here. Cute nicknames and different faces, each character is special and unique. To make it even better, the story is very realistic, it's very refreshing! It unfolds into an actual plot instead of just drama and sex, it was weird how I wasn't completely focused on waiting for the sex scenes also, I was more importantly focused on the complex story unfolding in front of me. For a bonus the art is also very pretty. Soft strokes and prettily drawn characters, I very much enjoyed the little girl Chizu the most! Her outfits and her character design are cute and delightful!â„ It's strange, females are usually widely isolated in BL, but in this manga the female is somewhat a main character. Considering the genre of this book I'd usually dislike this sort of thing yet strangely enough I very much enjoy her affinity to the whole story, in fact I even feel connected to her. It's quite nice~ An fun treat about this manga, the main characters are used before in one of the author's previous manga! "Yachin Hanbun no Ibasho desu." Seeing them return with different relationships and whole new perspective is tons of fun, and a delight for previous readers~ It isn't at all required that it be read before reading this story, and it still makes sense either way, it's just a sort of present or bonus that makes the story even the slightest bit better~ This manga is so very unique! If you like bl, or a great story even the tiniest bit, this manga is a definite read! It's lovely and appealing in so many ways and deserved to be read and appreciated to it's highest potential! It would be the biggest of shames if you didn't give it a chance. Both a visually appetizing and heart touching tale~ Please stop by and give it a nice read.â„
Oosawa had known Yoshioka for a long time... As his customer, Yoshioka came in and out of the shop with different boyfriends all the time. He thought he knew fully well what kind of man Yoshioka was. But when tragedy hit Chizu, his one and only daughter... and his capability as a single father was questioned... Yoshioka came out of nowhere and offered help. Slowly but sure, Oosawa learned that the man he despised was very different than what he appeared to be! (Source: Shinmakoku Scanlations)
I ve noticed over time that the yaoi definition differs from person to person. My own personal opinion is that yaoi is pretty much porn. This is certainly not that. I would describe it as more of a slice of life, romantic drama, the kind of one you see on television, only that the relationship is between two men instead of a man and a woman. It's an emotional plot, not melodramatic deep but it does make you sympathise with the lead and you dont find yourself getting irritated with his choices or thoughts. The thing i liked about it most was that it wasnt just'come to bed with me uke' and the poor guy is tackled to the floor, its more of a light hearted invitation thats more believable. The characters were allowed to develop their feelings before anything happens so if you want something with two good looking guys having rough sex, this is not what you're looking for. Its also pretty short as well so you could read it all on a free afternoon so thats always a plus. Overall i really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone looking to fill a gap in their day with a romantic story that leaves you going 'nawwww'
I don't think this is going to be a long review. Simply put, I loved this manga. 8 is the highest score I have given a yaoi manga, and it has got it. It was cute, enjoyable and sexy. I don't know why, but any romantic story that involves a kid makes just about 1000x better for me, and so it did with this manga. The BL scenes in it really made me feel tingly, which is a good thing. Well drawn, and not censored THAT much. As in some yaoi manga... You don't see them really do anything, that is not the case with this much.I really recommend this manga to my fellow fujoshi/fudanshi's cause it is overall a good manga!
TL;DR: 10/10 Copied from Tumblr review Why: Best paced yaoi ever! You know that âwhen was yesterday, what is tomorrowâ itch that I always feel like it needs scratching? The one I keep whining about so far in my these past few reviews? Asou-san scratched it pleasantly and then gave me a massage and then hired Masaharu Morimoto to cook me a personal dinner in a luxury hotel suite of yaoi story perfection. The two main characters, like Iron Chef Morimotoâs cooking, are thought out down to the last detail, balanced too. Not only that but they are surprisingly realistic. I have seen people just like them inthis world! Technically, I could say that for some of Asou-sanâs other works more than this one, but this one pegged a few of my own acquaintances straight between the lungs so that their hearts are bleeding all over my floor. The side characters are exquisite, making you want to know more about what happens to all of them, and she teases. She teases so bad! Truly evil of you Asou, yet itâs heaven sent. You need the tease because life is just a tease and if she delved too much into them, itâd detract from this beautiful story sheâs cooked up. Best part about all of this, there is not really any clichĂ©s here. Iâm sure there are some tropes that could be said, but itâs handled realistically that I call dem tropes beinâ human! However, like all the greatest masterpieces, there is a mistake. A rather perfect imperfection really, so minuscule in the story. So you know how itâs so beautifully paced that it makes me die twice? Well⊠you see, after this beautiful, complex and true to life three-act story arc (not three chapter, three-act story arc) that really connects these characters and binds them to your soul and gives you itâs happily ever after (sex and all), thereâs more to read. Thereâs nothing wrong with this! In the manga business this is a good thing, it gives the hard-core sex fans something to suckle on. I would blame the industry, but itâs not bad! The stories after the arc are more⊠like extra chapters. They give you extra delicious and not really needed, rich desserts. Theyâre very episodic in nature, and they arenât awful, theyâre just there. Which is why they donât affect my grade because theyâre after the story and you can tell the shift in tone and everything. Itâs not like you think the story isnât over and then bam, this happens. This is just more of like, canon fan fiction if it was carved by a actual writer? I donât really know how to describe it but the manga still gets itâs high ranking in my life. I hope you will take the time and read these, and if they ever get published in your country (I know her artwork has, but not her actual stories), you should buy them. I know I will!
