A One Shot that starts with a BANG!!!... but eventually looses its luster. That's probably the best way to sum it up. It's about a T-Rex trapped inside a Japanese high school girls body. The Good: The beginning is a wild roller coaster ride that will keep the reader interested for a while. Funny characters and situations. Unique story. Decent artwork. The Bad: The layout of the drawings become more and more chaotic.Becomes hard to follow halfway along the story. The pacing is unbalanced, it starts from fast to faster to unbearably fast. Lots of low brow humor (mostly slapstick comedy). Overall: It has a lot of funny moments here and there and the fast pace of the first few pages are well executed but it becomes increasingly difficult to follow what exactly is going on.
Ralph, the Tyrannosaurus, is the king of the dinosaurs. However, because of a meteorite's impact, Ralph is sent 60 million years into the future only to possess the body of a honours student, Mikobayashi Kana. (Source: MU)
This one-shot is bonkers. The premise is quite interesting and unique since the meteor that destroyed the dinosaurs was the catalyst for a T-Rex to be transported inside a teenaged girl's body. It provides some expected and cute scenes early on as he is trying to understand his new situation and body. Everything after that, however, was like a toilet flush of information. The series quickly devolves from a comedy gender bender into something really odd about dino invasions of the mind and the USA military invading Japan to get to Ralph (the T-Rex) in revenge for his carnivorous deeds. Then you have the odd subplot ofa Yakuza boss trying to kidnap Ralph to make his bride. It's truly bizarre and the panel layout does not help address the frankensteined story. It's honestly impressive how flabbergasted I was by the end of it. Cool idea, poor execution.
