I seldom write reviews, but this is too good to only have one review. It's a pretty simple manga, but it's so good I don't even know where to start... No spoilers here, so I'll be a bit vague: Artwork, great without overdoing anything. It being in color is certainly nice! The characters are so masterfully made, and develops naturally over the chapters (like the relationship with the older sisters friend for example) If you like say... Yotsubato! this is for you. If you like to explore different genres, this is for you. If you are 12 or 45, this is for you. well, imho! :) There is only onething to complain about really: why were there not 20 volumes. Or 30. It's nothing like his other works (which I also highly recommend), but if you like this kind of quirky manga, this is perfection. 11/10
A series of vignettes portraying the day-to-day life of a little girl with a very vivid imagination. Lucika is crazy, totally crazy, like all children, infinitely curious, never short of absurd ideas, always ready to look at the world through a distorting prism of extraordinary freshness, it triggers disaster repeatedly around her! This short and adorable manga, with it's gorgeous art shows us the everyday fascinations of one small girl, exploring with it's pure and naive mind various oddities of our busy everyday life, which we rarely see due to the fast pace of our lives. Tackling this manga with it's story is poor and wrong, since considering it's episodic nature we can't expect much in this regard, plus it can be said that the storytelling relies more on the art to convey it's feelings and emotions it does evoke to the reader. The manga's artstyle is great, appealing and it relays tous fluently her childish and sweet fascination from her discoveries and contemplations, as well as being a treat to the eye. So you can say one of the major high-points of this manga. Character wise, there are too few and too vaguely characterized ones, besides the main heroine, so we can't say there is much going in this department, but besides this, it can be said that Ryushika is just what you'd expect, playful, mischievous and quirky character. The series are certainly enjoyable, they are tiny bits of the slice-of-life adventures of one adorable child, assimilating with childish bliss the various things around her life, this manga is certainly for people, looking for fuzzy and heartwarming reads, or people in general who are looking for more exotic but calm read.
Im writting reviews to improve my english, so im sorry for my mistakes. Whole premise of this manga is to let us reexperience everyday life in eyes of very curious child (Ryushika). Story The story itself is episodic. In every chapter we see our main heros (Ryushikas) normal day. Whole story is entertaining becouse of comedy and that me as a reader can see in lot of scenes my own experiences (as child or someone who took care of child). The comedy is really good and it makes whole story way more enjoyable. There were several times when i couldnt hold it and just laughedout in public. Art Art is really stooding out becouse of colours. Whole manga is paint and it perfectly helps to the “seeing world from the eyes of the child“ feel. Charakters This is with Comedy what makes this manga really funny. Ryushika is really entertaining and hearing her theories on how things works or just her commentery about world is funny. Her family is really well written in therms of that u can see yourself in them. Overall I think this is something anyone can enjoy. Ofc if u are fan of slice of life it is something you should read.
