The story is very good, revolutionary back when the Gundam franchise came to be, introducing us to a futuristic age and its conflicts. Everything mecha is very well designed and the battle/war moments are very brutal, clear and intense, however, the character design is a bit poor. The characters seem to get less attention than the mechas and the action scenes, so those who like vehicles, giant robots and the impact of violent, powerful battles will appreciate it more than those who were expecting great character design. To me, it's a very important work when we talk about the Gundam franchise and the world of mechaanimes and mangas, many different works definitely got inspired by the ideas and styles Gundam gave us, and the own franchise grew and evolved with time, giving us amazing titles and many yet to come. This manga gets my respect, it worked with concepts that still were barely discovered and very unexplored back then.
Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 is retelling of the story remembered so well in Japan-of a war occurring on Earth's not-so-far-off future, when humanity's millions living in orbiting space colonies begin to push for their independence from the government of Earth, and new weapon called a "Mobile suit" becomes the deciding factor in battle....
