I found Seirei Produce disappointing in that it feels like it should be better than it actually is. I think the fundamental problem with it is that it's trying to do WAY too much in just ten chapters. The result is that it doesn't really succeed at anything, except maybe for its art, which is beautiful. For one thing, it sort of feels like the character motivations are really murky. Amane says he wants to become a god, but after his initial introduction, he doesn't really do anything towards it. Momose says she doesn't want him in her house, but she doesn't really do anything toget rid of him. Instead, it tries to fill with comedy hijinks that fall really flat. Honestly, the art actually kind of works against it here because it's beautiful looking rather than comical. Then, it suddenly switches gears into a more serious plot. While I've seen manga that successfully combine comedy and serious plot before, none of them are only ten chapters long. It's just too much.
Shiina Momose doesn't believe in fortune telling and the occult, but for some reason, she can destroy anything with a touch. One day while on her way to school, a young man approaches her and claims to be a God. Furthermore, he believes that he was guided towards her and for that reason he has become convinced that she should become his first follower! Naturally, Momose refuses; but when strange things began to happen... she can't not do something about it! (Source: MU)
