This is actually the first manga that made me cry, I was so overcome with emotion that I was actually crying for the main characters. I chose this manga because I had nothing to read so I started reading it to pass time. But as I read on, I couldn't stop. The art was very good, its actually one of the best I've read. Each character had their own personalties. I especially like how the mangaka portrayed the female character, she's so cute, clumsy and devoted (to the guy she loved)!! I just fell in love with them because... I don't know.... hehe sorry... I can'tthink of a reason why but, please just read this manga. I promise you, you'll love it. (if you like romance stories)
Our heroine is a girl who lives as a geisha in Japan. She has a male childhood friend who's always been kind to her and is her favorite. He's a painter, only he paints on human body parts, and she loves it when he paints beautiful butterflies on her arms. She goes to visit him one day and finds a naked woman lying in his room. Immediately after, she gets a customer who's rich and very interested in her. The thought of being away from her friend pains her, but is everything really too late? (Source: Aerandria)
when i firist started to read this manga,i was just looking for something short to read, and i wasn't really expect so much out of it. since it is a two volumes manga, i didn't expect there is a lot of characters or even story development from it. However, surprising , it turns out much better than i thought. Story: As it is mentioned in the summary, it is about a geisha, called butterfly, and the things that she encounter. however, there is only one or two chapters at the begining when she is actually a geisha. the story is mostlyabout the things that she and her childhooh friend face when they are living together. personally, i think the story is quite orginal and creative. it does not progress too fast like most of the other manga with only one or two volumes. however, there are some parts of story can be quite predictable. Art: i think the drawing is very cute, but not the most beautiful that i seen. Character: i love the two main characters and how the way their relationship progress slowly, and not too fast . it gives enough background for both of the main characters to develope. Enjoyment: i think this manga is very enjoyable and gives people a very warn-hearted feeling. Overrall: it is a great story for those who like romance and looking for something a little bit different to read.
I read it because i was bored and looking for a good read, but his manga had me hooked from the first chapter. I don't usually read shoujo manga's with serious themes, but this one was an exception. It had just enough humor, but some parts were so sad they almost made me cry. It wasn't a typical cheesy shoujo manga, which was quite refreshing, and it had a unique story line. I gave this manga an overall score of 10. The story was interesting and emotional; it felt realistic. The art was great and I'm a fan of this mangaka. The characters were believable;they expressed different emotions throughout the story. I also liked that the heroine didn't annoy me with her airheadedness and crying, but actually had some depth to her. Overall, this was an outstanding manga that I think most people would enjoy.
No. If you like shoujo, and can read yet another manga that adheres to the general trend of: Girl falls in love with boy -> They get together -> Some hardship here -> Love prevails Then read this. Otherwise, I'd give this a pass. This is the first manga I've ever rated at a 1, and I'm utterly shocked at why this has an 8.17 (as of this review). It's unoriginal. The characters are bland and flat. The girl is dense, and does everything for the interest of her husband, to the point where he's constantly on her mind. The only redeeming feature was the art, butit isn't anything to write home about. If anything, the butterflies in this manga are well drawn, and so are the characters, well enough to at least convey what's happening, although some panels take some time to figure out. Anyways, back to the story. The story's shit. In fact, the author even stated at the end of the story that she just wanted to "add yet another conflict" to the relationship between the two main characters. She proceeds to pull an ending completely out of her ass (yes folks, it's a deus ex machina), making me drop the score of this manga from an already low 3/4 to a 1. Give this a pass, unless you are really bored, can't think of anything else, or are one of the people that actually enjoy reading a manga that follows the same old cliche, stale, reused formula you can find in countless others. And likely, these others will adapt said aforementioned formula than this one. It sucked.
~Story~ The story line was amazingly romantic and sad. The beggining was cute and romantic and then as you read the manga more the romance became heavy and it was a cute story much deeper than you would have thought from the desciption it goes like this. The girl is inlove with her child hood friend and he falls inlove with her later in through the series and he goes off to war while she begins raising the family he left behind and alot of sad parts in there. ~Characters~ Were amazing in everyway they were not unrealistic or stupid they grew alot through the seriesand they became very interesting and loyal but also very romantic. ~Enjoyment~ I enjoyed the series greatly because of the very realistic plot and scenes and also the sad romance that seemed like any war story i loved it greatly and would suggest it to anyone who enjoys manga even if this isent their kind of manga i still suggest it.
