You Get Me Going

I read many series that have no reviews, but this is a rare piece that deserves a pause to write up some thoughts for others. It does not get a perfect score, but it's close! Story & Characters: 9 || This story has a moderate amount of drama that you would expect, but at EVERY turn it takes the time to unravel the problems and de-escalate issues in a normal and healthy way. A misunderstanding that causes confusion and drama is handled within moments as we see the characters act like actual human beings. We are constantly shown the characters think about their actions, problemsolve, and communicate with each other to manage all conflicts they encounter. (For the love of all that is holy, how is this normal fucking human behaviour so uncommon in stories??) We even see someone handling their trauma head-on and taking their life into their own hands. Almost all normal tropes we see in a romance (and the horrible ones we see all the time in BL) are presented and swiftly handled. We also have healthy relationship representation alongside realistic intimacy practices. Characters are not exaggerated (except that dick, tho), and most of this story is quite believable and relatable. I have deducted a point because there's still too much sex for my taste. If the ex-boyfriend drama wasn't involved, this would be considered a wholesome piece. Good vibes, cute character development, limited drama, silly situations. Art & Presentation: 8 || I would say this series is just a little above average, but nothing spectacular. It recently launched the official version that cleaned it up and made it better. I give points for more fuller scenes, backgrounds, and even proper background character designs to help everything look more immersive. I deduct points for the stereotypical gigantic dude with a gigantic dick. (Sorry it's not my thing lol) Overall: 8 || This is a solid read for the BL community! I'm always happy to see any relationships, drama, and intimacy that's handled REALISTICALLY. Happy reading :3
