TotsuzenâParallel! is a short and charming shoujo story that blends everyday school life with a gentle yet charming touch of magic. Nanako, a sweet and soft-hearted girl, finds her quiet world unexpectedly shaken when a parallel version of herself appears. Woohoo! And you would not guess what kind of parallel version! The presence of adorable animals and the light, dreamy magical elements make the story feel like a warm ribbon of pastel sparkles, wrapping you in 90s nostalgia and softness. In my opinion, this manga is pure 90s shoujo sweetness. It has that perfect retro feeling with soft line art, expressive eyes, gentle romantic tension, and a peaceful pacing you donât often see in modern works. Considering itâs a single-volume story, it manages to be surprisingly complete: the emotional arc works, the characters are memorable, and the message settles nicely without feeling rushed. Itâs the kind of manga you curl up with on a quiet evening, just to let your heart melt a little. The core theme, which is learning to love and accept yourself, is uplifting and wonderfully tender. Nanako herself is simply adorable: shy, kind, and sincere, the type of heroine you just want to cheer for. The art is full of atmosphere: delicate, sparkly, and charming in that unmistakable shoujo way. TotsuzenâParallel! leaves a sweet aftertaste, like a piece of candy that dissolves slowly and lovingly.
