If you guys have landed here by accident and are wondering if this is any good, I can whole heartedly vouch for it. This manga keeps it simple while going above and beyond to please the readers, and is not only full of fights, but is a story of friendship, pride and respect. This manga was the story that actually restored my love for reading, and is one that people should try reading even if only for a chapter or two. Story 10/10 The greatest thing about this is manga is that it is shounen without being corny. No hindrances of big breasted female leads, annoying movenames or cliche plot, only pure plot and action. Following the events of its prequel, it shows a new protagonist striving to become the top of the school. However, what makes Worst great is that it focuses on the lives of the towns other key individuals, something that I feel was of massive importance to the story. While keeping the story of Hana and Suzuran its focal point, this manga delves into the lives of the rivaling schools, the antagonistic rival, and everyones favourite motorbike gang. The story is extremely exciting as it shows the development of bonds and respect to characters that people can easily find relateable, and gives a perfect mix of off-hand humour to the hotblooded fights it covers. What makes the manga great is that it is not afraid to tug at the heartstrings of the reader, with some moments making you feel proud and excited and some leaving you almost empty, a quality I found great for such an action filled story. Art 9/10 A big step up from its founding manga, the art is near flawless. The character designs and the backgrounds are all incredibly well done, with the manga artist putting in what felt like massive amounts of times to ensure the graffiti plastered in various places was up to standard. The characters as mentioned look great, and the overall drawing style was one that made the story easy to immerse yourself in. Characters 10/10 The episodic nature of the manga ensures that you wont have just one favourite character. By the end of the story, you will love not only the protagonists, but even find yourself admiring and respecting the people that they fought against. All of the characters undergo massive development throughout the story, that being either maturing into more adult-like personas or simply gaining a new air of cockiness to flaunt around. Every character is unique and exciting to see, and makes you wish that the story had continued even longer just to see where their lives had led them. Enjoyment 10/10 This manga is simply put one of the most exciting and fun stories that have been translated. For people who had a pretty full-on highschool life like myself, this is an easy relateable story that can make you feel connected and nostalgic with the characters. Just reading the fights and hearing the aspirations of conquering schools is enough for people to get an adrenalin rush. The best thing about the manga is that it is long without feeling like its too long, allowing it to be both a lasting and fun experience. Overall 10/10 Easy. One of the greatest manga I have ever read, and will likely remain that way until a sequel is made. For those who are wondering if this is worth reading; you will not regret starting it. The story, art and characters are all near perfect, and beyond the excitement of the scraps and honour, there lies a strong and enchanting story of growth and pride. Please, take the time out to read this manga.
Hana Tsukishima is a country boy that recently moved to city. He is a good guy, ingenuous and honest, but he is also very strong. His goal is to become the "strongest student" of a school of thugs led by clan-logic, strength hierarchy and fights.
The Sequel of manga Crows, which takes place after Harumichi Bouya and others have passed schools. This review contains SPOILER! And this review is for those who have read Crows. I will always enjoy a manga where it is mostly about fighting, especially hand-to-hand fighting. Worst, or Crows x Worst to be precise, is a wonderful series to spectacle: the world setting is simple, the characters are mostly fresh, the MCs are OP but not totally invincible, the story is easy to understand yet still enjoyable, and, of course, the fights are awesome! Story: 9 Crows has rather simplistic story, but Worst is a bit more complex. It issimple compared to other manga, but compared to Crows, it is a bit complex, but still understandable and enjoyable. Art: 9 Crows has poor art up until Bouya fought Housen and Tatsuya Bitou. But Worst's art is getting better. You can say that Worst's art is a better version of Crows. Enjoyment: 10 The character developments and the fights are what I enjoy the most from Worst, especially Amachi, Murata, Renji, Takumi, and, the last but not least, Mitsumasa. If you're going to read this manga, you better remember these names. Hell, even King Joe really developed into a somewhat different character compared to who he was in Crows, and he developed amazingly well. Character: 8 I love Bouya, but I love Hana even more as an MC. Hana is basically a smaller but more physically powerful version of Bulldog from Crows, with him being a loved leader and all. He is one character that doesn't need any development because of how great they already are. While I did say I enjoy the character developments the most, why do I rate it only 8? Not 10? That one person is why. Look, I respect that he is powerful and kinda neutral, but I hate how despicable asshole he really is. Bouya would use force to get what he want, so would that guy, but that guy basically made some people (including his gfs) his personal slaves, and used them for his personal gain. Even if it's for comedic purpose, it's such a dick move, even for an asshole like him. I personally don't find him lovable. SPOILER Don't get me started on how he sucker punched Hana with a chair in their supposedly mano a mano duel that would have rivaled Bouya vs Rindaman. So much for 'the greatest duel in history'. And one thing I hate from Hana is how kinda out of character for him to still respect that guy after such an asshole move. And the winner for that fight would have probably been Hana should that guy face him like a real man instead of being a coward, and should Hana hit that uppercut which that guy himself stated he would have lost if the uppercut hit him. Really, we got Rindaman in Crows, who is overall a chill guy to some people around him (an old lady even praised how kind the dude is), probably the second or third best guy in Suzuran in terms of personality. And then we have that guy who is basically an asshole but still have respect to some people. Overall: 9 This manga is a wonderful read.
One hell of a ride, got me emotional in many parts of the story, but especially the feeling that remains with you after finishing it, is a weird and hard to explain one. From the start it felt shallow, but in just a dew chapters got my full attention and at the same time ruined my sleeping program as i couldn't sleep if i didn't know what will happen next. In short great story done in an epic way, good view on life and in the end if you cry, it's okay, that just means that it was a bestial ride. It will remainin my mind for a very long time for sure.
Story (9/10) : When you think you're gonna read a fighting manga with delinquent high-schoolers, but you end up embarking on an emotional journey through the main character's three years in high-school. Love the way the story develops, it's neither going too fast nor too slow, the pace is really good. The story switches between the two main groups quite smarly, so that I never felt lost in the story. Art (8/10) : I like the style, but it's nothing incredible either. The fights are clear and coherent, the characters are recognizable. For those of you that have read Crows, know that the art is betterin Worst, you can really see the artist's improvements. Character (10/10) : I absolutely LOVE the characters in Worst. From the main cast of good guys to the villains and even the side characters. Everyone has his own place in the story and the world. Most characters even have a coherent evolution over time, I love to see them grow, it's everything I like! And let's face it : Hana is just so precious, how could anyone not like him? He's a great MC. Enjoyment (9/10) : The humour is great, the characters are loveable, the story is enticing, the art is good, and dammit some fights are just plain epic. Something you wouldn't expect out of a delinquent manga like this one is the very good world-building, which really adds a nice touch. Overall (9/10) : Worst is a borderline 10 for me, it's an overall really great manga, and I feel like you don't even have to be a fan of fighting mangas to enjoy yourself. Know that reading Worst right after reading Crows is even more enjoyable, because you will recognize some of the characters (but it's absolutely not detrimental for those who haven't read it).
Worst is a manga series by Takahashi, Hiroshi that follows the exploits of a group of delinquent high school students. The manga is a sequel to the author's previous work, Crows, and shares the same setting and characters. While the manga has a loyal fan base, it also suffers from some flaws that prevent it from being good. One of the main flaws is the lack of character development. The manga introduces many characters, but most of them are either stereotypes or one-dimensional. The protagonist, Hana, is supposed to be a charismatic leader, but he often comes across as arrogant and reckless. The antagonists aremostly generic bullies who have no motivation or backstory. The female characters are either damsels in distress or love interests who have little to no agency. The manga does not explore the characters' personalities, motivations, or backgrounds in depth, making them hard to relate to or care about. Another flaw is the repetitive plot. The manga follows a formulaic pattern of Hana and his friends fighting against different rival schools or gangs. The fights are often dragged out for several chapters, with little variation or suspense. The manga also relies on clichés and coincidences to move the plot forward, such as random encounters, misunderstandings, or betrayals. The manga does not offer any surprises or twists that would keep the readers engaged or interested.
