The slowest of slow burns. The datanono translation is very lively and fun to read. That alone honestly made it worth reading for the fun jokes and character interactions because the progress between the two main characters is VERY slow. Like agonizingly so. Unfortunately, datanono disappeared before finishing season 2 and shows no signs of coming back. I kept on reading because I was already invested in the story and wanted to see it through. It was painful, though, because the remaining english translations are confusing and kinda grating. It soured the experience a bit. Okay, a lot. The drama bits are kinda tropey and often fallinto the yuri trap of "damn, these girls would have solved this 10+ chapters ago if they had just talked to each other." The last few arcs are pretty big examples of that, which is made 10x worse by the lack of a good translation. The falloff between seasons 1 and 2 wouldn't really be noticeable otherwise. The ending is bittersweet and emotional, but the drama preceding it was kind of forced and could have been solved way earlier. And no epilogue for a 900+ chapter story means I would not recommend this if you want a perfectly satisfying ending. I usually say the ending is the most important part of a romance story, but in this case, I enjoyed the main two characters a lot, and I enjoyed the slice of life stuff and side characters as well, so I was just slightly disappointed. Overall an okay read if you have a ton of time to waste. I wouldn't go out of my way for it though. Easily would've been an 8/10 if datanono had finished his version - honestly he did finish season 1 and it's a fun read up to that point so if you really wanna read this I would just stop there. Maybe I'll pick up where he left off if I ever find the time.
Prim and proper honors student Fan Yilin and the mysterious and charismatic Lan Ruoxi met through a stroke of fate and a misunderstanding, and only got further involved with each other from that point on. The more they came to know each other, the more something different started blooming between the two. "I like you, only because it's you." (Source: Bilibili Comics)
