Kouun na Kimi to Boku no Mirai

This BL basically brings two common modern fantasy BL tropes together; that of 'someone who can read the future' and 'someone who is excessively lucky/unlucky'. The creative move is pretty interesting, but I'm more impressed by how the story explores the power. MC is the one who can read the future, and he uses the power to proactively help people in small but significant ways. This simple act sets him apart from a lot of similar MCs, who usually err in the side of caution. This also gives him a lot of agency in the plot. Meanwhile ML is kind of a luck absorber; he causes people aroundhim to suffer misfortune while he himself gets showered in good luck. Again, this is an interesting take of the usual trope, and the dramatic potential does get shown a lot in this story. Plenty of dark pasts ahoy. The two clashing powers interplay in interesting ways, and their relationship begins to develop from there. Despite the powers, the romance feels surprisingly grounded. That being said, I find it strange that (I think) the story doesn't really follow up MC's dark past.
