TL;DR A short and satisfying otome* villainess manga that doesn't try to artificially stretch itself with senseless drama nor filler content. It's straight to the point and gives you a sweet ending with closure. Overall, a pretty good read if you're short on time and don't want to get invested into a longer story 8/10 PLOT: As for the story, the synopsis on the MAL page summarizes it pretty well, but if you didn't read it, here's my own summary. It's a about your typical Victorian-era villainess from an otome game* (dating sim where you seduce/flirt with guys; MC is the villainess who tries to sabotagethe game's female lead that's seducing everyone, including MC's fianceé). Anyway, MC recovers her memories from her previous life the day before she gets condemned by everyone for her bullying/harassment. As such, she only has 24h to try and change her cruel fate CHARACTERS: It's hard to have much character development in 18 chapters, but I can say I like most of the main cast. Being an otome game, a lot of the capture targets have stereotypical personalities, but who cares, they're the antagonists of the story and obstacles that the MC has to overcome ROMANCE: It has romance - short but sweet. Won't spoil who the male lead is, but it leaves you satisfied Overall, a pretty good read if you're short on time and don't want to get invested into a longer story. I recommend this
Alexandra is the duchess of the Kingdom of Tarraconensis. It was only the day before the absolution event that she realized that she was the villainous daughter of an otome game! It's clear that she'll be denounced and her engagement will be broken tomorrow. But I don't want to be condemned honestly! I'd rather show my eyes to the people who despised me! With only 24 hours left, Alexandra begins to make a breakthrough in her desperate situation. (Source: Kadokawa, translated)
Heyo, Demographics shoujo my kryptonite, despite utterly hating this genre sometimes i still step on it, luckily this time it wasn't pile of dung. Of course there are reasons for that (why it wasn't a pile of dung), but this is not important. Story 8/10 It was brief yet satisfying read. A typical otome game setting where FMC is the main villain the whole story is taken in context of 24hours and epilogue. Pacing was good, drama was set-in before hand without authors sudden injections of drama. What distinguishes it from all other isekai "otome" settings, is that author wasn't greedy and ended whereit should end, i give my respect to the people who can bow to the public gracefully without screaming THIS IS NOT THE END THERE WILL MORE ACTS. Despite it being a shoujo it doesn't have the usual setting of reverse-harem where a girl(woman) acts like "easy" yet "pure" better yet author clearly makes a satire of the main opponent of our FMC. What's even better we don't see the usual setting of shoujo where FMC is easily swayed by another man contending for her heart (there simply wasn't anyone). (I strongly dislike harem mangas, most shoujos despite not having a harem tag have few guys that pursue FMC's and she allows other men to say what no woman with a partner would allow to say, be touched, caressed, kissed or even having sex. Shounen or any harem manga targeted for male auditory is just the same frustrating to me so me gender equality here brothers and sisters) Characters 7/10 Characters are well made, despite original story (otome story) where everyone seemed brain dead, the actual manga showcased that everyone understood the gravity of the situation (besides reverse-harem members they are still hard-wired to have their brains shutdown). Our main heroine isn't Mary Sue though she has knowledge and she knows how to use it, let's not forget she is Duchess. FMC wasn't go lucky, blank space, paragon of virtue she was a woman who was scorned and acted more or less appropriately. I would even stress to say that many shoujo and josei mangas display that FMC's are people with self respect unlike many shounen and seinen MC's. Truthfully speaking even the villains weren't so dumb (besides the fact that they were ok with sharing one women and they knew it), they just caught with their pants down i.e. no time to react. Art 8/10 Characters are drawn well, there wasn't much goofing off nor overly shoujeisk vibe. Author also drew quite a few dresses which were quite detailed. Speech bubbles and panel placement up to standard. Enjoyment 9/10 Good read, build up was harmonious. No sudden plastic drama injections and it wasn't over 200ch where you could cut out 70% and still the story would hold. In short entertaining, short enough not to be too short and long enough not to be too long. Overall 8/10 I would definitely recommend it to romance - revenge genres.
Story 10/10 This manga used all the tropes in this genre wonderfully, it certainly won't be a boring read as it's fast paced and had me very invested about what would come next at every chapter. The ending had a little twist that was really neat and interesting, and the epilogue was cute and well earned. Characters 10/10 I love that MC is still a baddie even with the memories of modern days, she's hillarious and charms the reader into following her path, even as she does some ruthless things or just is indiferent about some characters' fate you can't help but stay at her side. The MC'sinteraction with her maid were also fun and nice. The ML was a sweetie and great man for her, I'm so happy for them. The antagonist was interesting too, we get to know what's inside her mind and she didn't annoy me like some characters in her position would in some other otome fantasies. Art 9/10 Very pretty and clean, some designs (like the protagonist) had me staring while I was reading lol. They fit the archetypes nicely and it enhances their personalities.
I love stumbling across good manga - and as small as "With One Day Left I'll Break All The Destruction Flags: "serves You Right!" Rta 24 Hour Record" is, it's particularly easy to stumble across. "Nokori Ichinichi de Hametsu Flag Zenbu Heshiorimasu: Zamaa RTA Kiroku 24 Hr." is about the crown princes' fiancée, who suddenly remembers that she is in a video game. And not only that, the day that will ruin her life is tomorrow! So the timer starts ticking and she has to give everything she's got to fix everything in the remaining 24 hours... And who would have thought it, this manga is notlong and yet complete. It's almost impressive that someone was able to stretch just under 24 hours into 19 chapters. Most of the manga's advantages and disadvantages lie in this small number. First of all, we have an unusually detailed, short story with good characters. At the same time, 19 chapters are really damn short. After only half an hour of reading, at least I was more hungry for the story and characters and was almost disappointed that it didn't continued - even if it might have seemed stretched out otherwise. But only COULD have, because there were some topics that were dealt with very quickly. Since it's very easy to spoil stuff with only 19 chapters, I just want to roughly mention all the topics that weren't directly related to survival - like what happened to some characters after the 24 hours. In the end, I don't know if I want to recommend this to you. I can't deny that the manga is great, but it just makes you hungry for more and with only 19 chapters and half an hour of fun, I don't want to give you the same appetite that I had to suffer through the last 24 hours.
[More info about my review style can be found on my profile] ▶Summary and recommendation: ----------------------------------------------------------------- This is my recommendation for people getting into the Otome Isekai subgenre due to how short it is. A "baby's first Otome Isekai". ▶Story: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is very short and succinct. It is not a very original story, but it executes it very well and the tropes featured in it are a staple of the Otome Isekai subgenre. It does have some shortcomings however. It frequently glosses over details, and the protagonist hardly faces any challenges. The ending is satisfying, but it could have been better. Everyhing has pretty much wrapped up by thetime the climax arrived, so it did not feel as impactful as it could have. ▶Artwork: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The artwork serves the story well. It is a japanese manga, so it is not in colour which most Otome Isekai is, but otherwise it does a good job showcasing the style common in the subgenre.
