My Girlfriend Is 8 Meters Tall

I enjoyed this series, but it is pretty simple. It is 4 parts fetish bait and 6 parts standard slice of life romcom tropes, but that isn't a bad thing! Just know that also comes with the English title, My Girlfriend is 8 Meters Tall, is a lie. They aren't dating at the beginning; he is her helper. The characters are generally nothing special. Each character fits a trope extremely well, and a few have a detail or two to make them unique enough. For example, I like how dependable Yumeji is despite seeming like he wouldn't be. Of course Chieri and Neiro are the highlightsof the series, but they still fit their tropes alongside being giant. For the story, it is usually just taking a standard trope and putting a giantess in place of the female romantic interest. From making a bento to forgetting an umbrella, you'll see all of the classic clichés. My issue in the series is at chapter 50. Without spoiling it, the chapter more or less backpedals the relationship for... no reason except to do so. At the same time, the giantess fetish (along with other well known ones) will be there. Numerous times does Yumeji fall into cleavage or get crushed under some female part. While not my jam, I didn't find it overly distracting from the plot. 7/10 I can recommend it, but only if you want tired tropes and clichés with a gigantic twist. Classics exist for a reason, so it is still a fun ride! Just don't expect something surprising or new here. I'd say it is a great palette cleanser for anything heavy or overly unique.
