Kyou no Ashura Meshi

Good light read to pass the time, This is a sweet story between a misunderstood delinquent and a outcast chubby girl, who by fate cross paths and begin to develop an unusual relationship on their school´s rooftop. As they spend more time together, they gradually grow closer thanks to their shared passion for food. The story is enjoyable to read, especially since both leads are likeable, cutely drawn and have a realistic backstories that you can relate to. It’s refreshing to see an uncommon type of lead like the FL, as there aren’t many manga that feature overweight characters in meaningful roles. Stories that incorporate food likethis one, are always nice to see, as they add a unique and enjoyable element to the plot. Overall, the thing I didn’t like about this story is the plot twist, it felt dumb and literally came out of nowhere. Also in every story with an undesirable looking character, they undergo a character development where they change their appearance and everyone changes their attitude towards them. It’s predictable, but apart from that the ending is decent, so overall an enjoyable read.
