I ought to add a bit of diversity in the review section. I think that this manga is definitely worth a try, though it goes bollocks around the 10th chapter. (Yet the chapters are long, so that leaves enough of good material.) The main attraction for me was the art. And (aside from a couple of odd frames) it does deliver till the end. The covers are especially beautiful and elaborate. Thereâs the matter of taste in styles, of course, but the richness in details, clean beautiful linework and very decent coloring are there for all to see. My only problem is that the MC doesnâtdevelop an interesting merged form. The story is not so good, unfortunately. It starts off very decently, but soon, with the introduction of the blonde glasses guy, it starts to get rushed?/butchered?/turned into something else? Itâs hard to understand, whatâs going on, the mood is inconsistent, plot devices are introduced without much care for explanations. The things go as far as telling instead of showing. The reason for this is unclear, but weâre left with what weâre left. The characters are nothing special, to be honest. The MC is an endearing golden-hearted idiot type and there is a not-really harem of females around him â an alien hottie, a teacher type, a tomboy childhood friend, a moe megane-chan. Oh, yeah, there is a lot of fanservice, but I canât say itâs really off-putting until the later bonkers chapters. I canât say that the characters go past stereotypes, but the whole story is like that. More importantly it is short and it uses its stereotypes with gusto. You canât call the concept original, and many things seem indeed lifted from Kiseijuu. Decide for yourself if itâs good or not: thereâs a limited amount of these stories, yet this one doesnât really add anything new to the genre. So my advice for the readers â start it (for the sake of the art and the concept) and drop it the moment you start to think itâs distasteful. Recommended for the fans of the âinfected by an alienâ genre, those, who are looking for a mindless shounen adventure story with fine fanservice, and people, who enjoy prettily drawn mutants. Not recommended for completionists, those with bad aversion to fanservice and people looking for original ideas.
Gengo Kurosaka leads a normal life until a runaway alien called "Six-eyes" decides to take refuge in his body. From then on, Gengo becomes Ishtar's target, a beautiful alien in charge of making sure the aliens don't turn planet Earth into hunting grounds. Gengo has now to learn to coexist with his parasite to stay alive...
I first started reading this manga because I saw a recommendation that said it had a similar concept to the manga parasyte (One of my all time favourite manga's to date). I don't think this manga is bad, it has good artwork and a good enough concept. but i'm sorry to say it was not up to my expectations; this manga in my opinion did not have the slightest thing in common with parasyte so if your looking at this thinking that it will be something similar don't read it. But like I said it's an OK read the story was a little confusing however(in my mind it did not make a lot of sense, and I felt that the ending was quite simply rushed and made no sense to what the rest of the story was talking about. I may sound that i'm giving this a bunch of negatives comments but it was a manga that was still enjoyable for me and is great for it's short length.
