I'm a big fan of autobiographical manga and this one is no exception. The mangaka tells of her struggles with german supermarkets and missing ingredients to cook her favorite japanese dishes. This is a fun read if you are either interested in cooking japanese dishes (in a European style) or in different cultures and their differences. The art style is very cute and simple. The recipes also show photographs of the finished dishes but the black and white manga print makes them a little difficult to look at. The manga is filled with cute little anecdotes about life in Germany and with a german husband but the mainfocus is definitely on the food and cooking. The chapters felt a little repetitive at times as they always have the same premise of "I really want to eat this japanese dish but I cant find the right ingredients." If you are interested in cooking this will definitely be more for you, I'm not a fan of cooking personally so I would have liked a little more content about culture differences or just daily struggles but it was an overall pleasant and light read.
