Knight Under My Heart is a slow-burning Manhwa, with that being said here is my review: I personally loved this Manhwa, the slow storytelling really allowed the world and characters to develop. The main character and the events that transpire are really well thought out, with twists and turns and even betrayals. Although the read is short, if you are like me, you will be wanting more while also being satisfied with what you have and then some. The characters can go through a deep change and sides will be shown of others no one expected. Here is where things will take a negative turn: My reviewis a 10/10, yes but it felt like those who didn't like slow burns stayed til the end and were just never satisfied, I saw lots of negative comments towards the story, most missing the whole point of it and disliking the read for what it wasn't. I feel as if all of that negativity got to the author and they stopped, despite all of the positive comments. There is a large cliffhanger and as much as I hope and want this to come back and continue the amazing story that was told, it may not.
Have you ever skipped studying to play video games? Unfortunately for high school senior Yushin Lee, the stakes are a little higher than flunking, as he finds himself trapped in a VR-based MMORPG. Yushin was selected to beta test the game, only to be forced to fight for his life in a seemingly endless loop. What was supposed to be a light distraction from the stress of high-school life becomes a desperate struggle for survival as Yushin battles his way through REAL Online, a dark fantasy world created by a mysterious tech company with uncertain motives. Lots of build-up for not much reward. I feel as though I kinda wasted my time on this one. I didn't notice how short it was so maybe that was on me for expecting more out of it. The beginning and the ending felt too cheesy to me where I was actively cringing but that could also be attributed to the fact that I just couldn't get invested until about the middle of the story. The reactions weren't too realistic. The action was very hard to follow. I didn't understand what was going on 50% of the time until there was dialogue explaining what happened. The second character was never flushed out and made their inclusion feel unnecessary to the whole story except to prove a little morsel of explanation to the MC. I don't think it was worth it to read this one. It feels like it was made just to add to the list of manhwa of this genre and call it a day. If you just want to get your hands on anything of this genre then you might enjoy this one.
Obnoxiously repetitive and a complete waste of time. It's a 2 chapter story stretched to 40 chapters. MC screams and cries for 40 chapters with zero progression to the story. I understand this is supposed to be a Groundhog Day scenario but good lord this is too much. The story is so nonsensical and ridiculous you're forced to turn your brain off. I don't think I've ever seen a manhwa drop the ball this hard. Characters pop in and out from nowhere with nonsense dialogue and then leave. The main villain might as well be from Looney Tunes. If you are hoping for any typeof satisfying conclusion then stay the hell away from this one.
