Severely underread. Probably the first über-grounded Manhwa about mysticism that I’ve read. I’m not talking martial arts, or mythological stories with many creatures from legends with those power-systems. I mean people who can perceive something. They don’t even know what it is, and they’ll use it for evil or good. I loved the premise, much more how it started. It sets up so many small mysteries around the story, while creating an incredibly well-versed cast. Filled with nut-heads, great people, evil bastards. It’s a mystery series about an apartment building with loads of secrets, and disturbing reasons for them to be secrets. Loved the premise andhow it starts to lure you into the crumbs of information it can give you. This one does so much with the very little time it has. This whole thing felt like an inevitable escalation of problems nobody could avoid forever, due to, again, the mysticism of it all. Good is meant to stop evil, and nobody inside the situation knows why but they will want to stop it. There’s a hope to it. Only us, the audience, know all the pieces in the story, and by virtue of letting us piece these things, the beauty of the story comes from our minds. I really enjoyed my time with it. The art is nice, with some creepy-ass character designs, and it’s funny how some of the characters seem evil, or scumbags at the beginning, only to be my favorites. The final villain wasn’t the best in my opinion, though. There was something missing, or a step too far into the “powers” or “abilities”. Certainly, went a little beyond what should’ve been there, but what happens between the good characters due to that is incredible. Loved what came of it, even if the road there wasn’t too sharp. Great ending due to that. 7.8/10. Having these abilities sounds like such a horrible thing to carry around, imagine smelling evil, and good in people and not being able to stop it for even a second.
Jaeshin sees dead people, and Officer Han can sniff out evil. Literally. Their search for a missing friend leads them and professional stuntwoman Yuhyeon into a tangled web of vile cover-ups and twisted violence. Can they handle the overpowering stench of evil? (Source: Webtoon Entertainment)
