Maybe I'm just dumb... Or the first 10 pages are confusing. I didn't quite understood who was talking until page 12ish. The story is about a person who's willing to do good things without wanting something in return; justice. On my opinion, the girl would've not solved the case if the guy haven't helped her. Honestly, she's dumb... They should've given the guy better credits than the girl. This manga sure has a lesson to tell us. I recommend this to anyone who can read this review. It's not good where you can say 'awesummm' , but this manga can clearly tell us one thing other mangas forget.. Beingnice to people, justice, and doing something good without something in return.
Petey is a bounty hunter in a time and place full of bounty hunters. The criminals are outnumbered by the bounty hunters and whenever a wanted poster is posted, it doesn't stay up for long. Except for one... there's one wanted posted with a negative bounty and no one wants to catch this criminal. But Petey is curious and she seeks the help of a mystery solver... (Source: MU)
First off, I’m actually surprised that this reminds me of Bartender, though just vaguely. It started out with Suna giving her a glass of Darjeeling Cooler and right before it showed how to make it. Then it does it again a couple minutes later. Now I have to say, this is actually a really good short. There really is no reason not to read it since it’s only a one shot. The story line is rather goo and there is a small lesson involved though not as strong as I think it should be. The characters aren’t really memorable but the story line is the thingthat seems to stand out rather well. Sometimes its hard to see who is talking and other times they switch from one place to the other back and forward but other then that, this is a must read if you can find it. I didn’t think they could make a really good mystery in just 31 pages but they did rather nicely. The artwork is rather thick lined and the faces don’t really have much definition to distinguish them from one another. The hair shows the most detail alone with the lines used for shadows. It’s all inked with no half tones at all. This makes the manga a bit to dark once in a while.
Let me start with the character first. Why? Because personally, this is the only thing that bothers me so much. The main problem is the character build. I don't know, maybe it's because I already watched anime "Bartender" before i read this one-shot. I really disagree with Suna's behavior. He seems totally uninterested with world. I think what bartender should do is not to reveal his/her true self. But in here i feel like seeing another Oreki Houtarou from Hyouka. I admit that he can do his job well, but his "uninterested" eye and "too relaxed" stand really make him less looks like an averageBartender. Art is fine, temple is tidy, sfx is not too crowded. (ofcourse because it's not totally action). So nothing to be discussed about. The Story is the main reason i give it a fair score. Simple, not too strong, but unexpected. That's what I like from mystery genre. It can make all readers (not only mystery geek) can understand easily.
well this was surprisingly a good one-shot. just to be clear this review doesn't have any spoilers so no need to worry about that art 6/10 the problem isn't the art style but the quality of the drawing is weak and it just looks really old characters 8/10 both the two MCs are likable and the mix of a smart cool boy with the funny energetic girl was good.story 8/10 dialogue 10/10 really engaging and smart dialogue that keeps me thinking about the mystery and how they could solve it, but it the same time make me laugh when a character make a funny reaction. overall it's a solid 8/10 . and deserve a recommendation
