Forbidden Wedding is a Shoujo, Smut, Romance, Comedy with the sort of story that any experienced shoujo manga reader is familiar with… but shorter. Our heroine, Hana, is a childish girl who’s always dreamt of one day meeting her prince and that day eventually comes, but he isn’t the sort of prince she hoped for. Queue typical shoujo romance storyline, about a girl that reluctantly falls in love with her perverted prince. Sure this is classed as smut; however this is a fairly cute shoujo romance manga, with not much drama to complicate matters. The couple in question are quite fun to follow, with plenty ofsensual situations they get into, nevertheless the entire set-up is unoriginal. Hana Akiyoshi is you typical naïve, innocent girl who’s fairly easy for our hero to take advantage of. As for Ichiya Toujyou, all I can say is that his character is full of contradictions. He’s genuinely nice but can be cruel; furthermore he’s a sadist but can be fairly sweet. Bottom line is, this is a shoujo manga that allows the pair to become a perfect match and though there are other characters, you can pretty much ignore them. The artwork is probably the best thing about it, with some detailed character designs; on the other hand it’s easy to tell what areas that little effort has gone into it. Overall this manga turned out to be a good read, for any ‘romance’ or ‘smut’ lover with less than an hour free time but the problem is that the story lacked depth and originality. ^_^
Hana dreams of falling in love with a guy who is like a prince. She thinks that she will meet her prince by just believing. Finally she gets to meet the prince of her dreams; however, when Hana goes home, she's forced to attend a match-making session! And the prince, Ichiya, appears right before her. Hana believs that this is a destinated match, but little does she know that Ichiya is not your avarage prince--!? (Baka Updates)
if your new to shoujo smut manga i this may excite you but if you've read shoujo, smut before then this is not very unique. there is no parts that will make you fan girl squeal because everything has been done before. a girl who always wanted to marry a kind hearted prince gets a prince but OH MY GOD BIG SUPRISE!!!! he's a pervert who's always teasing her!* GASP* i did not see that coming!! oh wait yes,,, yes i did.... not to say this manga was boring because it was not it was just average this manga had nothing that would make me say"this sucks so stupid!" but it also had nothing to make me say "OMG so good i loved it!" it's also a quick read that you can finish before the end of an hour.. seriously i started at 9:40 and ended at 10:15 the art was cute bishie style but nothing spectacular overall 7/10
The good thing about this manga was that I got exactly what I was expecting. Having read and watched a lot of what people would call the 'shoujo' genre, I knew what I should be watching out for. Cue the forced marriages, the evil, sadistic male lead, the naive and helpless heroine, the main guy doing terrible things to the heroine that she secretly likes, a 'fight' and a romantic make-up, and of course, smut. There was nothing in this that wasn't cliche or expected. The story was a given and moved along quite quickly. The idea of a marriage between two unrequited lovers' childrenis age-old, not to mention the 'sadistic hot rich guy' stereotype. Not to mention the fact that he sexually assaults the heroine continually. *shrugs* I think I'm immune to it now. The art was okay, but it was really 'traditionally' shoujo, which I'm not a big fan of. By that, I mean that stringy hair and awkward shoulders and ever-present oddly-drawn smirk for the guys, along with tiny, lithe figures for the women with massive bug-eyes and perfect hair. Again, I wasn't really expecting anything different. I enjoyed it a little. I hated that I enjoyed it, considering the amount of assault, but it didn't drag on and everyone claimed it was consensual, so I could look past that to a few of the funny parts. All in all, not a total waste of time, but I will probably never read this again. I would recommend this if you: love classic shoujo, like sadistic, forceful guys, like innocent female leads, like fast moving, short stories, like the idea of arranged/forced marriage I would NOT recommend this if you: wanted character development, wanted a plot, wanted something different, hate cliches, hate naive female leads, hate sadistic, forceful guys, are big on consent Have a great day everyone!
