It's hilarious and funny. I read this in one sit and I think is a comedy, slice of life. I felt it was a little rushed but that just added to the comedy. It's a good read in general. The characters are really likeable at least imho. If you are looking for a shonen and fighting manga I don't think this one is for you, thought it has some really good fights. But if you want to laugh a lot with unpredictable things, and with the corniness of the couple, go. I think with more time it could have been developed into an even betterstory, but in general it was good. The romance is good, and the love, support, and communication are really good too.
Souya is grinding away at his boring days of office work, while holding onto his dream of becoming a manga artist. As he hurries home to his beloved and supporting wife, Yuuka, he suffers an accident, and before he knows it, he's been parasitized by an alien?! What's more, the aliens' evil tentacles are closing in on Yuuka. In order to protect his wife, Souya rushes to her aid as "Ottoman" (Husband-man)! (Source: Shueisha, translated)
Something to keep in mind before reading this manga: It is relatively short (got axed), so it may feel rushed. However, despite that, it manages to close it's plot points pretty well. The ending is good and doesn't come out of nowhere. With that out of the way, my TLDR is: read it. It's worth it! The worst part of the manga is that it leaves you wanting more. Despite what the synopsis says about aliens and heroes, the main focus of this manga is love. Love as a positive force, and one that makes you overcome your negative emotions and deal with your trauma in ahealthier way. This manga balances pretty well both romance and action. The general plot might be a bit cliche, since it's just about joining a powerful organization to fight against this evil organization of a dozen or so villains that want to conquer the world. Still, the most interesting aspect is the relationship of the main couple. Artstyle wise, it is very pretty to look at! Nothing otherwordly, but still above average in my opinion. The fights are easy to follow through, and the character designs are neither bland nor too out there. They look just right, and end up being interesting enough to get attached to them. However, due to how short the manga is, they never get TOO fleshed out. It just gives you enough information to understand the general idea of the character and their motivations. If you're looking for a short, quick story about love and heroes, then Ottoman might be what you're looking for today.
