Judging by the cover, I didn't expect this to be anything more than the common BL trope with circumstances leading up to the "And then they fucked" moment. Well, technically, it's still the case. But the mangaka really went the extra mile to carve out diverse facial expressions and the characters are really wholesome (and handsome). So despite the pretty much generic plot, you will find yourself invested in the story and watch out for each and every nuance of their feelings being full-on displayed through telltale gestures. And it only gets better when you get to more intimate scenes. I'm saying this as someonewho has sifted through tons of BL (mid and gold alike) and the in-bed interaction in "Amaetai Kemono" is just that good to get me hooked. It's really a lovers' talk for a reasonable amount of time which is neither dragged out nor abrupt. It's just perfect for readers to process the details they are seeing with attention. That being said, this is a fairly light-hearted story with no dramatic events so for some, it might just be a story with nothing to write home about. But if you're looking for a hot read with a clear dedication to character design, expressions, angles, and communication, you should definitely head for "Amaetai Kemono" - satisfaction guaranteed.
Arata's a college student working as a "big brother for rent." One day, he meets his new client, Junta, who looks like a total tough guy!! Arata wonders if this is some sort of trap to get his money, but what Junta wants is for someone to pat him on the head. Seeing someone this hot go bright red and be so vulnerable is turning Arata on... Junta's just so adorable... what's going on here!!? (Source: Renta!)
Masterpiece, point blank period. I am actually unsure of whether Junta is a minor, but Iβm not really bothered by wondering yes or no for this one since Iβm pretty sure Junta is a senior and itβs not unusual to have a college boyfriend, nor that heinous or inherently problematic, especially since seme didn't seem to be that far into it. Also their age/school year gap didnβt seem big and they seemed to have a pretty healthy/well-balanced relationship? And this was a work of art soooo.... Like, both characters were drawn so well, I loved how it was a little unique with a more realisticand beautiful style. I fell in love with both characters and yeah I'm still a huge sucker for gap moe (in this case, hidden cuteness inside a "bad-boy" exterior... THE BEST). The way the couple goes together with needs and intimacy and attraction is so good I could cry.
