TL;DR: A great manga. Superb art, funny characters, a good story. It doesn't take much time to read, so you should probably just go read it. Also, the manga got voiced over on the official Shonen Jump YouTube channel by Chiaki Omigawa who happened to provide the perfect and most comedic voice for Ruri. I'd highly suggest checking it out (even if it has no subtitles). While I don't read manga nearly as much as I watch anime, I wanted to write this review because of how much I enjoyed this one-shot. I sure hope it gets a series eventually because I smiled and laughed allthe way through. The story is quite simple. Puberty is weird for a lot of people, but it's sure weirder when your parent is a dragon. Sex-Ed doesn't teach you about what happens when your parents are of two different species, but here Ruri is. There isn't a whole lot of time to establish characters in this one-shot, but I still liked Ruri and her mom. Their dynamic was great. The art is spectacular. There is a lot of attention to detail. It boosts the story from where it already is. Overall, I had so much fun with this story, and it was enhanced by the fact that I watched the official video before I read the rest of it. It won't take you long to read it, so I suggest you just go ahead and do it! It's always worth a shot!
Ruri Aoki is a perfectly ordinary high school girl—until one day, she grows horns overnight. Confused by the change, Ruri asks her mother about it, only to find out a shocking truth: Ruri is actually a half-dragon. Though worried, Ruri heads to school, hoping her new appearance does not catch the attention of those around her. Unfortunately, Ruri's classmates quickly notice and start to swarm her with questions. Additionally, this newfound revelation comes with a dangerous ability to spew balls of fire. In an effort to help Ruri contain her power, her mother takes her to the forest where Ruri's dragon father resides, hoping he might have the answer to curtailing the problem before it hurts anyone else.
