Missions of Love

TLDR; My thoughts on this manga can be summed up in two quotes directly taken from the manga itself: "I've really had enough of love triangles already..." and "Hisame, I honestly don't give a shit about you." 

Story 6/10Oh man, where to start? The story follows the standard shoujo romance formula: The not so popular girl begins a romantic rendezvous with most popular guy in school. Oh, and not only is he super hot, he's also super rich! But don't let that fool you, since he's a poor, misunderstood soul by everyone except our heroine! Soooo original, right?! Cliches aside, I still LOVED the beginning of this manga. It was super funny and had all of those classic "OMG SO CUTE" moments. It was all extremely enjoyable from the start and I could not put it down because I loved it so much. But then the story does a complete turn midway through and suddenly wants to start castrating itself over and over again. Likeable characters suddenly become annoying and OC. Everything starts to go in circles and we're stuck in an agonizing limbo of "OMG WILL THEY RESOLVE THIS ISSUE ALREADY THERE'S BEEN LIKE 20 CHAPTERS OF NOTHING BEING DONE". Wayy too many love confessions, love triangles, and NTRing. The manga manages to redeem itself in the end but it still wasn't enough to make me give the story a 9 like I originally wanted to. I also found it disturbing that all of these characters are actually just a bunch a middle schoolers acting dumb and horny af. Now I see why they were being so melodramatic... 

Art 9/10

 Art is always subjective but I thought everything was drawn beautifully. The background details, the character designs... all so perfect. And as someone who reads a lot of shoujo, I had no problems with the gratuitous amount of sparkles and flowers scattered throughout the panels. This category still doesn't get a 10 though, because sometimes the art made me feel like I was reading an ecchi manga. There were so many fanservice-like ass and boob shots of Yukina that I was like -_-

 This score is an accumulated average based on the individual scores I have given each character. Yukina 7/10 Yukina starts off as a great heroine! She's confident and cool, but has weaknesses that ground her. She isn't quick to give up and cry when things get tough. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to get it, and does whatever it takes to achieve her goals. A breath of fresh air compared to the many generic shoujo heroines I've seen! But midway through the story, her character does a COMPLETE 180. All of a sudden she becomes your stereotypical shoujo romance heroine: self-pitying, whiny, and a huge crybaby. The plot goes in circles because of her indecisiveness! I was disgusted. Thankfully, she returns back to her usual self near the end of the story. Shigure 10/10 THE SAVING GRACE OF THIS MANGA! Shigure reminds me a lot of Arima from Kare Kano, although he's a lot less dark. He's got this really nice, kind outward appearance which makes everyone think he's a model student and son, but in reality he's actually quite mischievous and sly. He feels a pressure to be perfect, especially in front of his father. So when he's around Yukina, he's able to relax and be himself. Shigure really is the star of this manga. He's adorable (yet totalllly sexy), charming, and actually acts like a human being. Part of the reason why the manga drags midway through is because Shigure isn't there for most of it! Akira 6/110 Sigh. I initially really liked Akira. He was the sweet, pure-hearted cinnamon roll that had to be protected. I felt so bad for him because of his past and for the fact that it was obvious he would never get with Yukina over Shigure. But then he starts to acting like an annoying NTRing brat and I soon just wanted to skip over the pages that had him in it. Dude, you're Yukina's cousin. Stop trying to feel her up. Mami 8/10 A realistic character that has flaws like a normal human. If you've read/watched Kimi ni Todoke, she reminded me of Kurumi... a more annoying, whiny, bratty version of her, that is. But I still liked her and felt bad for the various things she had to go through. The REAL cinnamon roll that we all must protect. Hisame 1/10 Ugh. Just... ugh. He NTRs more than anyone else in this story. A lot of the story's conflicts surround this guy, and he continues to make more and more each time! Seriously, the manga could have ended a long time ago, but Akira keeps creating more and more issues for the sole purpose of dragging out the story! He's suppose to be a dark person on the outside but sweet on the inside, but he's impossible to like when he doesn't seem to learn a single freaking lesson from every issue resolved.

 Mannn, I was so in love with this manga at the beginning. Yukina and Shigure made an amazing duo, with neither of them taking each other's crap and constantly having those "OMG SO CUTE" moments. But again, that was the beginning of the manga. Midway through everything crashes and burns, and I felt so irritated with how the amazing Yukina turned into an annoying brat. Conflicts constantly running in circles, a stupid student-teacher arc... ugh. The manga saves itself in the end, but man oh man did it take its time. 
Overall 7/10 Like I said before, this is a really funny and amazing shoujo that takes a disappointing drop midway through. All of the issues really shouldn't have dragged on like they did. The story redeems itself in the last few chapters, but then the whole manga ends shortly after and left me feeling like :/ If it wasn't for the amazing first half, I would have probably rated this lower. I would recommend this manga to shoujo romance lovers who are patient enough to get through frustrating story arcs and wanting to see better shoujo protagonists. Yukina is pretty likeable despite her OC moments and still a lot better than many of the shoujo heroines we see today (talkin' bout you Erika Shinohara)

The art is good, and the story begins with a fun blackmail situation, it's also fun to see how the Yukina uses her experience to write her cell phone novel. But the enojyment stops there. The development is horrendus, and the love triangle (square, pentagon) is forced beyond believe, and the shoujo tropes are exhausted. The story takes a turn after the 15 first chapters or so, and it's just bland. So so so bland. The characters have no consistency, and their developments are just weird. I think Mami, Yupinas love rival, and Shigures younger brother, are the only two that actually keep in character andhave a thourough and believeable character development over the course of the story. I guess the reason this manga has such a high score, is mostly due to reviews and scores based on the first few volumes from 2009-2010.

Oh god, this was horrible. It was literally so bad I made an account just to warn other people. I've read my fair share of romance manga, some were great, other were more hit and miss. But this.....THIS is downright dreadful. At first I was pretty pulled into the story. The pace felt good and the premise of the story was really great. A blackmailed student with a tsundere girl. It had the potential to be one of my favourite. Had. Unfortunately it took a nose dive and never stopped going down. The romance could be summed up as childish, immature and bloody disgusting. I admit, I'mnot a big fan of love triangle, but this was Twilight sort of love triangle bad. I'm surprised they didn't just add the NTR tag to this with the constant back and fourth nonsense of *I LOVE YOU*, *NO, I LOVE YOU MORE*. It felt childish, as if the main character was doing this romance for the hell of it. There were no clear intentions set and misunderstandings were a dime a dozen. Heck, this entire manga is based around misunderstandings. It's frustrating to read through and I find myself constantly cringing at the sheer bad writing. I get that it's 2 white knight trying to fight for a maiden's heart, but what it turned out to be was more akin to 2 school children bickering back and fourth. I feel that at some point, the writer wrote it more for self-gratification than anything else. No sane person alive would ever throw their dignity and respect down so far just to get spit on by someone they *love* and then do it again the next day. It felt narcissistic more than cheeky with the way the main character acted. I was hoping the ending could be some sort of salvation from the absolute garbage the story was heading but no such luck. MOAR LOVE TRIANGLE. There was no satisfying conclusion, no enjoyment from finishing this. The only thing I felt was relief. Relief that I would never need to pick this back up ever again in my life. Credit where it's due, the art was great. The environment and scenes were drawn beautifully. The girls themselves were pretty cute. Which all the more made it that much more infuriating how badly this turned out. If you enjoyed this manga, nice! I don't intend to turn this into a debate. But if you're thinking whether you wanna pick this up, I implore you to turn away and save yourself. Read Kuzumi Kun, can't you read the atmosphere if you want a great romance manga.

It's abou a girl who blackmails a popular boy to do love tasks with her so she can write about that on her cellphone novel, cus she never experienced love and she is super kuudere. The story was so so: At the beginning everything was very interesting. The characters were well built and the flow os the story was going well....Then half the story goes down hill. The main character starts to get so annoying, and even thou it has a slow pace it takes forever for her to understand things. The only reason I kept reading was so I could know the end, which wasvery mediocre, mainly beacuse there was a second love triangle that was not resolved in the end and they had a very open end. Of course the main couples gets together but the way they rosolved things was so stupid like "oh so you just gonna say that and everything is fine? well that was easy" (I'm talking about the problems the guy had with his family). Also, the problems that could be solved so easily had soo much drama. Well, I understand that the story has the "drama" gender in it, but I just feel that pointless drama makes the story poor. The art was beautiful: That was the main reason I kept reading. Everything is so detailed and so cute. Definetly a masterpiece. The characters: The main girl was meh, she started as cool but ended up kinda weak. She had a nice development half way but the other(ending) half I was like "Why did you do that?!" The main guy was very cliché, I hated him, but he started to get very likable at the end, when he started to say things and show action. The other character ( wont say who) had a very nice development, they changed for good and weren't useless for the story to flow. I did like the story but as I said the author didn't quit stalling and that was infuriating, I got bored at the second half. It's a good story if you have patience and love that useless drama
