Based off the incubus/vampire pitch I didn't expect this one to be as sweet, sentimental, and even as funny as it was. The art style is beautifully detailed as well, over all there's a lot more to this manga than you might expect. Without spoiling too much the confession scene was beautiful, and had a lovely take on the immortal/mortal dynamic that I have yet to really see in those types of love stories. Is this a smut manga? Oh Yeah Absolutely. The sex is a major factor of the plot, but the way it's used as a vehicle for the MC's journey of self-acceptanceI think is probably something a lot of people (esp queer people) can relate to. Even if you just come into this looking for some fun supernatural escapist smut, (you'll get that 100%) but you'll also likely resonate with either of the leads and their challenges, at least allegorically. If you're looking for a sexy story that's also very sweet and healthy, then would absolutely reccomend this one. Also (light spoiler) but as a fan of Bram Stoker's original novel, I appreciate the reasearch the author put into Dracula's character before incorporating him into the story.
All pure-hearted Mamoru Hishida wants is to live as a decent human being. So he can't figure out why his life keeps spiraling out of control. Then one night, he happens upon a beautiful vampire who immediately recognizes him for what he truly is: an incubus-human hybrid, and on the brink of sexual starvation. The vampire strikes a bargain with Mamoru to become his familiar in exchange for a supply of sexual energy...but are familiars usually charged with attending manga conventions? Thus begins a strange romance between a virgin incubus and a sensual, manga-obsessed vampire. (Source: Iproduction, translated)
