I saw the premise and thought that it would be a cute lil adventure but boy was I wrong. Art: 10 I started reading this for its artstyle and it didn't disappoint. It's a soft and cute artstyle that fits the story, and it doesn't stop being cute. All the backgrounds and characters are drawn carefully, and the expressions are funny. Story: 7 While it starts off being a cute lil adventure about a corgi wanting longer legs, it quickly becomes an adventure with higher stakes (no spoilers). The adventure is made fun with a diverse cast of characters which the main characters meet along the way- its a pretty classic adventure. However, there are still a few things that a lacking, especially in the last section, where many plot points were skimmed over for the sake of time, which is understandable. The plot twists can be somewhat anticipated, but that doesn't draw away from the enjoyment of the story. Characters: 8 I loved the characters and appreciated how the author gave them motivations that make you want to see them succeed. The main characters were consistent and their dynamics were fun to read, and although some may stab you in the back, you somehow still can't help but root for them. I would recommend this to people who enjoy a fun adventure with lovable characters, good endings and precious art (i want to eat every frame mwah mwah).
If you come across Roland, take this as your sign to read it! This manhwa is an absolute hidden treasure, offering a captivating story that will keep you hooked from start to finish. While the art style is bright and charming, the narrative delves into surprisingly dark themes, creating an unexpected but fascinating contrast. What sets Roland apart is its ability to surprise readers at every turn. Just when you think you have it figured out, the story throws in twists and turns you never saw coming. The characters are another highlight—each one is unique, with their own backstory and motivations, yet they are all intricatelyconnected in ways that slowly unfold as the plot progresses. This manhwa is a perfect mix of lighthearted visuals and deeply engaging storytelling, making it a must-read for fans of emotional and layered narratives. If you’re looking for something that’s not only visually delightful but also rich in character development and suspense, Roland is the one to pick up.
