An unremarkable but unoffending ABO romance story. I was originally drawn in for the premise of two antagonistic men who keep coming together but refuse to admit they even like each other, much less love. That expectation was delivered in full, along with great art, decent writing for both the smut and lifestyle scenes, and decently compelling story beats. The story does a good job slowly laying out the main character's attraction, but I think it could have benefitted from an additional chapter to really sell the love interest's feelings and flesh him out some more. But other than that the pacing is satisfactory, and it's overalla good story. The ABO is present and vital how the story works, but doesn't take center stage or demand much focus. For those who aren't a huge fan of ABO, this might still be a fine read.
As an omega, a type of secondary sex that allows an individual to give birth regardless of their primary sex, Yuu Shishikura has always dreamed of starting a family. However, he sadly remains the last of his friends to find a spouse. As he fruitlessly attends mixers and solicits matchmakers, Shishikura's peaceful professional life is invaded by a new coworker, Haruto Kotani, who still resents him from their time together in middle school. When fate leads the two to meet in a love hotel during Shishikura's heat, the ensuing night of passion changes their relationship in ways that neither of them ever expected. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
This story is chaotic, and I do mean that in both good and bad way. In a good way, I think the way they do (bickering) enemies to lovers is pretty enjoyable. At first it doesn't seem like they're taking it seriously so everything feels all fine and dandy. The comedic beats are good. I think the story shines the brightest when the main characters get to bicker and banter lightheartedly. In a bad way...I think they fail to bridge the gap between the bickering comedy and the serious, vulnerable moments. The seme's personality flails wildly without explanation depending on which part of the story it is, andthe uke's personality slowly decays from the first chapter to the last, until by the end he's pretty much 85% typical Tsundere Uke. Overall, an enjoyable story, but....could be better, really.
