This manga felt like reading an abridged version of a longer story, in that every element of the plot is touched on very lightly, and/or resolved near-instantly. Character arcs are also similarly sped through, and their depth is only really alluded to. Some characters who seemed set up to be important new friends for our MC ended up only appearing in one-or-two chapters, with no relationship development despite it being set up... I wouldn't be surprised if the manga was cancelled at some point despite not being marked as such. The art was very pretty, along with the character designs which were all fairly unique andfun--I particularly like Tsukie, who has little Roses for her buns. Overall the manga is an easy, quick, and enjoyable enough read, but will likely leave you wishing you got a longer version of the story that took the time to fully explore its characters, world, and plot elements.
Vlad Academy is abuzz with the news of a new transfer student. The student, Aoi, decided to enroll in the school in pursuit of her childhood friend Yuuna since they had not seen each other in six months. Surprised by Aoi's sudden appearance, Yuuna explains why she had distanced herself from Aoi: Yuuna is a vampire—and so are all the students of Vlad Academy. Although Aoi accepts Yuuna's confession, Yuuna informs Aoi that she must hide her identity as a human, as not all vampires on campus are friendly toward her kind. While life under a fake persona is difficult, Aoi is ready to take on any challenge in order to spend time with her friend—even if it means taking on Vlad Academy's oppressive social hierarchy. If you want something light and fluffy, I guess this could fit the bill. Even then, this series suffers from a lack of conflict. Art: Generally fine. Some of the character designs are notably better than others, though everyone is drawn well enough. Backgrounds were sparse, but okay when they were there. The paneling legibility was a bit of a mess. From panel to panel there would often be large leaps that made it hard to understand exactly what was going on. Story: The premise is that a human girl accidentally goes to an all vampire school so she can be with the girl she loves. In the first chapter, the main conflict is brought up. She's a human, she shouldn't be there, yet she wants to stay there. All the other vampires can't know that she's human. This thread is somewhat present over the course of many of the chapters, but ultimately it's not tugged on enough. Crucially, there's not much conflict between the main love interests. Later something pops up that seems to be conflict between the two of them, but again, it doesn't pay off. Even if you just want a fluffy story, there are way better options out there.
I was barely able to fulfill the word requirement as this was one of the yuri? vampire stories of all time. The plot is non existent, the characters are flat and unappealing. The power of friendship isn't even used in this, which probably could've salvaged what little it had going for it. None of the story actually matters, nor does the main part of being a vampire. I don't know what inbred individuals are reading this and rating it so highly that they have managed to give it over a 6 rating, but I beg you to read literally anything else. I would however, highlyrecommend you to read this only if you are on your death bed so you don't have the displeasure of realizing you just wasted your final moments reading garbage. SPOILER: Girls are friends. Girl 1: "Don't tell them you're human." Girl 2: "I am human." Fin.
