A super underrated manga fr. Why is a masterpiece like this not popular. The characters in the story are like the cherry blossoms just super adorable. Shizuka-san and Takaki-kun, i loved it yarr. Speaking the truth, I am gerontophobic, i am scared to be an adult or maybe i was (still am a little). This manga totally changed my perspective of getting old, seriously. I am just 15 but it still had a huge impact on my thought process, mainly about myself. I always thought that I lack this, lack that stuff and used to hate myself but reading this manga made me realize thatI can be loved the way I am, totally, irrespective of the things i lack. About the story, its relation to coffee, ahhhh just woww. The bitterness which slowly but surely turns sweet the more you take it. Nothing could be more perfect than this. If you are form 14 to 25, read this please, its gonna make your life better and even if you don't lie in the group still you need to read this story, you'll surely learn a thing or two from this and the story will just give you the bitter-sweetness you didn't knew you needed. 21st of May, 2024 - 7:09 PM ~bye
Takaki Hatano is a third-year in high school who can't wait to become a "real adult." One day, he passes by a café and finds himself mysteriously drawn to the proprietress, a mysterious woman who seems to be hiding a secret sadness. Through her, through coffee, and through his encounters with the other café patrons, he begins to taste the bittersweet feelings of love and growing up. (Source: Kodansha, translated)
One of those hidden gems you will find in this medium. To summarise this without spoilers the premise of the manga questions what is an adult and when does the person actually become one, are adults actually sorted and prim and all knowing? or they are as confused as any child or teenager. For a 21 year old like me who by all means a legal adult who just nailed a job at a good company, I honestly don't know whether I became an adult which I imagined adults were when I was young , hence this one touched home where the protagonist questions whatbeing adult actually means. Of course the manga has a lot of wholesome and emotional moments which were executed quite well. I would say its a must read.
