Holy crap this series. From the synopsis, you'd think this would be some dark exploration of depression, bullying, and such. It isn't at all. It may seem to start that way, but what it really is is our main character(Sakura) responding to her environment of being bullied by going haywire and making a giant, crazy leap forward (pun intended) that spurred her to do things for her benefit, and coincidentally, also benefits most of the people around her as the story progresses. It is quite a tense and scary read. After Sakura gets triggered, there is simply no telling what she'll do next. Even the reader won't, thatI can guarantee. It feels like watching a trainwreck about to happen, that is until Sakura's true intentions to her actions are put to light. Now, is there romance? Yes. But IMO, it's not that strong since it wasn't properly built up. Male character never even got to bluntly confess (but it will still feel like he did.) Actually, we're not even sure if he would outright confess because unfortunately, they axed this series. But don't let that hold you back from reading this because the ending as it stands is still satisfactory since the main "antagonist" gets beaten just before the ending. Some details of the plot devices and resolutions are blurry. Not everything tees up quite perfectly, but most of them are easy enough to wave away.
The bullied girl in class Rin Sakura and the honor student who doesn't want to make any waves, Yuuya Komine, were classmates and haven't once exchanged words with each other. Everything between them changes when Yuuya goes with the flow around him and tells her to go die. Rin jumps from the classroom window. She escapes death and claims that it was Yuuya's fault. The bewildered Yuuya tells Rin that he'll do anything as he begs for forgiveness. Rin tells him that what she wishes for is love. (Source: MU)
Spoilers ahead! Seriously, just read the manga, it is worth it. The art is great, main characters are great, background characters seemed kinda too similar, like his ex's friends and those bullies girls are too alike to the point it's hard to differentiate them. But overall everything important about this manga is perfect up until the point of last confrontation. The last confrontation is weird because she as we know was livestreaming the thing, but she still again jumped off to prove a point to a singular person? That's just pointless to be honest. Sadly the manga might have been just a little bit rushed because it didn'tsell well, even though it's definitely worth reading and buying. I will be looking out for more works from this author and advice you do the same.
This is a roller coaster ride of a series. Most of the time I was wondering where the hell the series was going, and I'm honestly unsure if I like that or not. The characters of the series, especially Sakura, are what really makes this series. Sakura has decided that she will live the life she wants by whatever means necessary. It's an interesting premise, but it makes the character confusing at times. I couldn't tell if she was incredibly calculating or living moment-to-moment, even at the end... And I can't say I'm a huge fan of it. I really wanted to like her, but shemade that hard. The other characters, especially Kaoru, grow from her actions and the consequences thereof. The story is... okay. It has some moments I liked, but as a whole I can't say it was great. When the story is 80%, "What the hell was she thinking?" it means the story depends on how you see Sakura. I suppose that is a strength in a way; it makes me wonder how different my school life would have been if someone upset the norm like she did. 6/10 Would I recommend this series? Hmm... Honestly, it depends on if you'd like someone overly demanding and manipulative. I do suggest reading the first chapter or two to determine how you feel about Sakura. The answer to the question, "Do you like Sakura?" is the same as, "Should I read this series?" The moment that bothered me the most was a certain kiss, but it brings to mind the question in my head most of the time I was reading: "What the fuck is going on, and why the hell did that happen?"
A good dramatic read that depends a whole lot on the unknown and coincidences. Story 8/10: I gotta say the starting chapter was one of the strongest I've read so far, and the plot moving was something to look forward with every chapter. If it wasn't for some stuff depending way too much on coincidences I would have rated it waay higher. Characters 7/10: I might be the only one saying this but Sakura Rin had a weirdly inconsistent character and I don't mean it in a theatrical way. She the FL had alot of moments where her character shifts just so we can feel certain thing. Wishthe author just made her have some kind of MPD to justify the shifts when her personality was just one of the 2. Other than that I would say the characters are well written and nicely portrayed. The development also is quite good for all of them. Art 7/10: The art is good, nothing too fancy but good enough to portray the feelings I guess. My only complain is the overuse of the blush effect. Enjoyment 8/10: Fresh concept, good drama, good plot twists on the most part, and really entertaining. However, the work sadly got rushed in the last 2 chapter making the ending feel a bit off for me. If it wasn't for that I'm sure the work would have scored an overall > 8.
Wow, what a story. None of this started in the way I was expecting, or developed in the way I was expecting. None of the characters was what I expected either. The protagonists is fantastic, what a powerhouse of a character, and right away my absolute favorite character in many manga as well as in this one. The character development and growth, and the story progression are both completely subversive of all expectations, but in a completely natural way. And from the starting point it all slowly progresses towards a much more correct version of these characters and their interactions, and towards a satisfying end thatmade me happy. It's like everything starts off upside down, and gradually rotates towards the right side up, but it's also like there is no right side up in any real sense. I really don't want to spoil anything so I'm trying to be as abstract as possible while maintaining a a tether to the actual work, which is really high quality. The only two things I'd have wished were a bit better were the length (I feel it needed at least two or three more chapters to be truly satisfying), and the art (which is good, but also very plain, causing the story to go by much faster without much art to pause at and appreciate). But these are really small things, this work is Genuinely really really good.
