Sheeply Horned Witch Romi

Sheeply Horned Witch Romi follows a Senpai and his Kohai in an a world transformed by magic where they are the only humans awake. This manga has great artwork and creature designs and is pretty short to boot, shouldn't take anyone longer than 2 hours to read, so if that piques your interest at all then you really don't have anything to lose by giving it a shot. The biggest problem with this Manga is that it's just too short. The main characters do not get enough characterizations for the themes in this story. We only ever get a very basic understanding of why the charactersfeel the way they do which makes the themes of pessimism and depression fall a bit flat. The manga really needed to dive deep into the leads reasons for hating their lives before the world was changed by magic. We're told and shown almost in passing that the Main characters have experienced abuse and bullying but it gets so little attention and we aren't given any reason as to why that happens to them so it just feels very basic. Their are some occasional really great nuggets of thematic writing in final volume especially so it's a shame most of the story doesn't live up to that standard. I'm kind of painting a bit of a negative picture here but nothing is ever really poorly written, just a little flat. The art really is good enough to carry it through those shortcomings so overall it's a good read and when the writing is good it will leave you thinking about it
