"I love you, Asagi Umi!" This is such a wonderful manga. It's about a boy who wears a paperbag over his head because he's shy and he tries to win over his crush Asagi Umi. Every romance has its ups and downs, and Paperbag-kun tries his best to not let Umi be exposed to any harm. It's another short manga with a refreshing story. Even though such mangas could be considered overrated with the sheer amount of them, I never get tired of seeing a short romance. The plot progression is also very good and not too fast paced. In my opinion, it's definitely a must read. Anyperson who stumbled their way to read this review probably is a fan of romance and shojo, and I fully recommend you read it.
University student Umi Asagi generously receives both presents and confessions from Kamibukuro-kun—a stranger who always wears a paper bag over his head. Despite his overly timid demeanor, he endlessly pursues the woman he loves most, following her anywhere she goes. However, her best friend views Kamibukuro-kun as a nuisance and his love as a stalking obsession. Ultimately, her companion strikes terror into Kamibukuro-kun, threatening him never to go near Umi again. Like Umi's friend had hoped, Kamibukuro-kun vanishes into thin air. But all this time, Umi never believed that his acts caused her trouble; in truth, she looks forward to seeing his presence every day. When Umi backs herself into a corner, will Kamibukuro-kun come to her rescue? [Written by MAL Rewrite]
“Maybe there's a place I can't reach, but if it still makes your heart fluff a little, that makes me happy.” Kamibukuro-kun wa Koishiiteru is a very short 2 volume manga. Literally you can finish this in under 30 minutes if you really chose to, which I did. Because I randomly remembered out of nowhere that this manga existed, I then decided to read it and to my surprise there were only 17 chapters. So to read I went. And I enjoyed every minute of it. This is a very simple comedy romance manga. A very simple story to understand. Very simple everything as a matter of fact. It’s not confusing to understand it’s literally 17 chapters ( technically 15, there’s extras ). But just because it's super simple and what not doesn’t mean it’s bad at all. This is a very cute and nice manga. The quote at the beginning is a message from the author, making my heart fluff they did indeed manage to accomplish. They made more than just my little fragile heart fluff. Reading this manga is such a nice fun experience, you read it and it’s just a cute manga overall. That’s about the only way I can describe it. The characters are also very enjoyable, to be fair you only get to see the two main characters the entire time. But still that doesn’t matter because they’re super cute to see together and very likeable anyway. The art here is fine, it’s nothing crazy or complicated, but it’s not something so bad that it’s offensive. It’s just nice simple art for a nice simple romance manga. It’s just very “in the middle art.” That’s how I would describe it. Like I said, I really enjoyed this for how short it was and I’m glad I read it overall. It was a nice read and made me laugh, and give my heart that “fluff” feeling that the author wanted. If you have nothing better to do, I would recommend this to you or someone. It’s a very short read and it’s enjoyable and likeable. 8/10
I finally have got my hand on a hidden gem. And you know what I am talking about. 'Kamibukuro-kun wa Koishiteru' is not your typical rom-com. But it will not fail to bring a smile to your face. And I know you are grinning like an idiot while reading this. This manga gave me a whole new experience and learned how people can gain courage with just a little bit of change. Some cover their eye with bangs like Kyoutarou and Ishigami, some cover their face with masks like Kumakura-san that give them the courage for interacting with other people. And it was also the samefor Paperbag-kun. By covering his head with a paperbag he could interact with his loved one. Well, one should not try this outside and should not interact with girls while wearing a paper bag cause you may get arrested. Well, if you are looking for a fluffy romance with cute expressions, no love triangle, no unnecessary drama, and good character development then you can give it a shot. The art is very good and detailed with good character design. I got hooked while reading each panel of this manga. It was quite refreshing for me to see Asagi Umi-san's smile and Paperbag-kun's various activities. I won't talk more cause you may get spoiled. So give it a try.
ENG I started this manga thinking it was a shoujo parody manga, but instead I was pleasantly surprised by a sweet romantic story. Don't be fooled by the hilarity of the male protagonist wearing a paper bag on his head, there is a reason behind this bizarre custom. The male protagonist of this story is the real gem of this manga. Trust me, you'll love he after just a few pages! I recommend it to anyone looking for something sweet, romantic and relaxing to read.
A great rom-com! This manga is just a bag of serotonin. It's straight to the point and easy to read with short chapters. It was wholesome and sweet that I found myself with a smile on my face every few minutes. There’s a little drama at the end but it’s not annoying. The storyline is unique since it's about a man who wears a paperbag on his head. I loved the art style and Umi’s hair. The character designs are really cute. I never really like characters but Paperbag-kun was *chefs kiss* If you’re looking for a cute, feel-good romance then give this a shot!
