TL;DR: Adelaide is your typical shojo-isekai manhwa, and while it may not be even remotely special in the genre, it's certainly an enjoyable time. L;DR: I see that this manhwa has no reviews at the moment, so I thought I'd throw in my own two cents on the story for your consideration. Shojo-isekai has been my guilty pleasure for a while now, and as more and more manhwa crop up following the same fantasy-medieval-europe setting (some which admittedly have nothing to do with isekai), Adelaide was definitely on my radar. It was a super easy series to read and binge in a day or two. I'm always down fora fiance-fiancee romance, which is exactly what I got from Adelaide. Duke Felix, like many manhwa dukes, is a handsome male lead to follow and you generally end up rooting for Adelaide and Felix's relationship. The other characters woven into the story are pretty interesting as well, such as the crown prince and the story's villain, Susan, among others. The flow of the story was definitely there too, I never felt like a part was going too fast or too slow, and the climax of the story felt satisfying. There's a few gruesome and questionable parts, and the story itself was quite predictable at times, but otherwise it's a perfectly average manhwa that's hard to find anything wrong with. Art-wise, I never had a problem with the art style. It adequately portrays the story and characters. There's lots of cute and funny moments woven in, and I think Adelaide is overall a very enjoyable story.
Reincarnated after a car accident 17 years ago, Adelaide Chamille Borbon's second life could not be more ordinary. As a nobleman's daughter residing in the countryside, she yearns for excitement before being married off. When Adelaide overhears the news about a black-haired woman coming from another dimension, she does not hesitate to rush to the capital and meet this mysterious "saint" at the debutante ball. Elsewhere, Felix Mikhail Noah Elias is fed up with the rumors surrounding him and the so-called saint. In reality, the latter is a wolf in sheep's clothing—she relentlessly tries to seduce him and spreads false rumors for her own benefit. To free himself of the unwanted guest and the bad reputation she brings him, Felix has no choice but to find an aristocratic lady and arrange engagement as soon as possible. When their lives intertwine, Felix asks Adelaide to temporarily act as his fiancée. But although he assures her that no feelings will be involved, with Adelaide constantly by his side, Felix may find it difficult to stay true to his simple promise. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
There are so many complaints about the female lead - it shows how people really don't think beyond people's actions. *mild spoiler* The way she does the things she does is not well explained within the manhwa but when you think deeply about WHY she might have done those things, then you would understand how she was feeling at the time. Yes she may be a little "extreme" or "dramatic" but aren't we reading these manhwa for the drama?? I love that the focus on this manhwa isn't full of nobles being jealous and petty, there's a nice objective and I LOVE the supporting characters so much! They'reso loving, caring and funny which was well executed. The problem people should have is with the writing, not the female lead character, in my opinion. I stayed up until 10am reading this soooo I thoroughly enjoyed it.
