Honestly man this is a super messed up manhwa that I have ever read in 2020 and it was absolutely done right. You really felt sorry for the main character Eun Sian, she had a bad experience with men and she had a overprotective psycho mother from ensuring she kept away with all the men from the outside world. Yuri was her ex bf in school who traumatised her (not gonna say, keeping this spoiler free) and later dresses as a lolita to get her attention. He's a perfect example of an extreme Yandere because he literally was unpredictable and he has Eun Sians photosspread across his room. Super scary if you ask me! This boi lads is pretty unsettling to be quite frank with you all lol! Next guy in this is blond asshole at first, Hyun Yujin. He comes into the scene mid way when Sian was looking for a job so that she can get away from her psycho mother and signs her up to work in his cafe (he's a manager at some kind). Reason why I call him a ass*like is because He didn't treat Sian well at first and he was basically a womanizer who had the girl staff go after Sian because y'know stupidity. This guy surprisingly grows as you get to know him and he starts to care a lot of Sian more than ever. Yall aren't ready for the ending so I'll leave it there!
Eun Sian, otherwise known as Shanshan by her good friend Hyunee, is popular with all the girls at school. Which would be great if she swung that way, but she doesn't. It just happens that she's terrified of men, and her mother is obsessed with protecting her from all men. And suddenly, Yuri, the prettiest girl at school, has admitted to Sian that she has feelings for her. Now Yuri won't stop following Sian around, which would also be fine by Sian, except it seems like Yuri wants Sian all to herself... and who knows how far she'll go to make sure that happens. I really like it up until a like 10 chapters before the ending, because personally I found it to be a bit to rushed and it kind of fluctuated from what the story already had set up in terms of how the characters behave, for example I found that sometimes a characters action didn't really align well with the characters motive or general personality, And more specifically one of characters feel a bit "chosen oney" at times because things just always kind of went right for them while if another character were to do the same thing it wouldn't have went well which left theending feeling a bit bitter sweet to me. But I really did like "secret alliance" especially how it represented relationships and how it can permantly effect both people participating even if there's one clear "victim". but beside that I really like how the story kept you guessing on what direction it was gonna go from the beginning and overall I enjoyed it, and I cried at the end so do with that what you will.
secret alliance is pretty fked up xD but its worth the read! **minor spoilers** the art is beautiful and the charcter expressions are drawn really well where u can actually get a feel of the emotion happening. theres only 45 chapters so it is a bit short i do wish there was more to it but the author has written the story well paced and sums up everything in the last few chapters. The MC has gone trhu alot of truamatic moments in her childhood and it sticks with her when shes an adult but its refreshing to see how she does her best to overcome it. lemmejust say the ending was pretty good :) its not ur typical physopath ex bf senario just give it a read tho u might enjoy it :)
The more times I reread it, the more it makes me sick to my stomach. The creator was in some serious shit while creating this. Honestly, this isn’t for everyone. It might be upsetting for some people, but it personally made me pity everyone involved. Maybe that’s why I keep rereading it, just to make myself feel even sadder and worse for them.If you’re into yandere themes and fucked up characters, this is for you. *** MINOR SPOILERS *** The thing is, this is actually a very possible scenario that could happen in real life. It isn’t fantasy. I’ve seen people like this everywhere, not talking about the cross-dressing-for-love aspect, but the destructive behaviors that can absolutely appear in real life. The “fear of men,” which is an actual phobia called androphobia, the “person who sleeps just to feel like they’ve accomplished something” type, someone who’s been treated as an outsider being shown affection and then clinging to it in an unhealthy way for both parties, and so on. The way it represents these things feels very real. This isn’t something for everyone, so there isn’t a review that can tell you, “Oh yes, this is the best—you’ll love it,” or “Piece of hot garbage, my time is wasted.” It really comes down to personal preference and how you, personally, respond to this.
