If I Get Serious, I Can Kill You takes on body identification and shows that you there are other ways of thinking and still be accepted by those around you without having to bend to social norms in body type or actions. That they are human first then a woman/man after and all else between is up to them to decide on what they will be. If I Get Serious, I Can Kill You will take you to new understanding of what can be called socially normal and open your eyes to the roll's that are taken when trying to get someone to date youas you are. Since it is a complete series. you can get though it fast but still enjoy what you are reading.
It's definitely not a bad manga. It's short with a somewhat good romance. However, the story is a little lacking. You won't get much development for a short manga, but I feel like the story could have been better. It focuses on how the FMC tries to change who she wants to be and how she meets other people who will help her go through tough road. The characters are good, and, in my opinion, the FMC's boyfriend is somewhat pathetic. He didn't get much development but I expected some massive development from him but unfortunately, he only got a little and all the boyfrienddid was accept who she was and give himself some strength to move forward in his own life. Anyway, the manga was great, and I enjoyed it. The story really catches my attention on how society expects you to be like everyone. Basically, be part of the majority and not the minority, or do what everyone around you is doing.
Sakurako Kurahashi, 18 years old. I'm going on a date today as a quiet and reserved university student. But don't underestimate me, because if I get serious, I can kill you! (Source: Shueisha, translated)
