This manga is simultaneously the most horrifying and intoxicating read I have seen in years. It's been a long time since a story has so thoroughly gripped me to the extent that I couldn't put it down. This story follows a twisted romance between Woohyun and Ha Yan, that takes us down a road of insanity uniquely mortifying. Every time I expected things to follow a normal path, the plot would go off the rails further. I genuinely think this is a masterpiece. Not a single character was wasted. Every moment accumulated to the phenomenal ending. I recommend whoever reads my review to give this a try. It's a warped storyline with depraved characters. If you're expecting your typical yandere romance you might be disappointed but, it's worth a shot anyways. I certainly regret nothing.
Woohyun is rich, good-looking and popular... but he also happens to be a total bully. His punching bag is Ha Yan, a stuttering and amenable girl in his class. Woohyun likes nothing more than harassing her... The weird thing is, Ha Yan actually seems to crave his attention, feeding off it. As they each spin a web of deceit to ensnare the other, who will end up getting caught? And could romance bloom from this tangled, thorny mass of obsession? (Source: Lezhin Comics)
3/10 Hello everyone! As always, I’ll keep this review brief and to the point. To be honest, I’m not entirely sure where to begin. This series is chaotic in so many ways, and as the story progresses, things don’t improve—in fact, they spiral even further out of control. Reading this felt like a complete waste of time, but if you’re someone who enjoys a deeply twisted narrative that constantly challenges your sense of logic and morality, then this might appeal to you. Just be warned: the predominant emotions you’re likely to experience are irritation, disgust, and pity. I seriously considered dropping this manhwa around episode 25, but with nothingelse on my list and a lingering curiosity about the dark world the author created, I pushed through to the end. Unfortunately, the messiness never lets up—it only intensifies. If you’re looking for something uplifting or well-grounded, this is definitely not for you. Nearly 95% of the characters come across as psychopaths in one way or another, so be prepared for an emotionally draining and morally unsettling experience. The only reason I am giving it a 3 is because I am impressed by how messed up the things were in it rather than it being just bad.
Marvelous start, horrendous past Chapter 20, questionable ending. Do not waste your time! The beginning was interesting and refreshing. Author created great characters — some psychologically twisted by their pasts, contrasted against others with strong morals and relatable humanity or comedy relief. However, that contrast vanishes mid-story for no apparent reason. Two major character build-ups were simply discarded; in their place, the story doubles down on "deranged copycats." (It literally feels like Woohyun 2.0 and Ha Yan 2.0 were drawn all over, just for the sake of senseless chaos). Art is cool, but at some points it's hard to tell characters apart. The plot becomes unhinged and meaninglessto the point where it feels like the author, rather than their fictional cast, is the one in need of therapy. This story could have gone in so many directions. I wish it would be revisited and redone someday, as there was so much missed potential for something greater. Instead, all we are left with is frustration.
