Buna no Mori no Aria/Aria of the Beech Forest is a really sweet wholesome series following a young witch cloistered away in the woods, slowly learning about the world around her and those whom inhabit it. I really adored it and its quite a good quick read so I suggest giving it a go! You watch Aria take her first steps from the comfort of the forest, make her first friends, learn about modern technology and figure out what her aspirations for the future are. The series has gorgeous art and some really cute instructive cooking scenes. There's also a very ambiguous sort of GL aspectslightly to the story in brief moments.
TL:DR Cute, cozy story of a young witch girl growing up. Fun characters and good art with a little mystery to add some spice. Story: 7/10 A sweet coming-of-age story of a little witch girl, who's world changes after meeting a talking wolf named Gwyn. It's is wonderful to see Aria go from a shy recluse content to stay in her little world forever to her making friends with other charming characters, discovering the outside and finding a dream to work towards. Also lots of food and cooking. Such a cosy manga. It's not an especially complex story but there is a little undercurrent of mystery in Gwyn's origin.Character: 7/10 Aria is adorable, self-sufficient but also childish. She starts of shy and content with her lot in life but gradually opens up to others while she finds out what she wants in life. Gwyn is more mature and pushes Aria out of her comfort zone in a positive way while having some troubles of his own. Their relationship are the main focus but the other side characters are pretty endearing too. Art Adorable characters, a lot of visual comedy with reactions and such. Also has some very beautiful art of the Irish countryside. Overall: 7/10 A very cozy manga full of cute fluff but with some emotion behind it. I recommend reading this when you want something light and uplifting.
The witch Aria is a little shy. She's good at cooking and knitting. And she's a real wiz at growing herbs. As for what she's bad at? Why, that's magic! One fateful day, the sheltered girl encounters a talking wolf, who becomes her very first friend. Watch the witch and wolf snuggle up in this comfy story with a touch of mystery set in the forests of Ireland! (Source: Yen Press)
