I'm not sure that I can say this manga did anything particularly phenomenal. BUT...when I decided to read it, I was just looking for something cute, wholesome, and with relatively low text density. I basically wanted a quick, relaxing read to take a break from some of the more adventurous titles I've been getting into. And this manga did its job well for my tastes! So much so that I binged all 62 chapters. For the record, some chapters are only 4 pages long, so it really is a quick easy read. The story is about a prim and proper rich girl and a delinquentboy who develop feelings for one another. We get a few flashback chapters to show us their first chance encounter, which helps us see that they didn't just fall in love randomly. There are qualities that they came to appreciate in one another. And of course, you have scenes like your mandatory beach scene (in this case river scene) and probably other tropey moments...but sometimes that's what you're looking for. I was teetering between an 8-9 overall without overanalyzing it because I know it met the criteria for what I happened to be looking for and decided to stick with a 9 because why not? If you want a quick, cute, wholesome read...it might knock it out of the park for you too.
Souta Matsubayashi is seen by his classmates as a gruff delinquent; in contrast, Sakura Miyazen is viewed as a beautiful princess. From their appearances, it may seem like they have nothing in common. However, with the polar opposites beginning the school year in the same class, the two both want to get closer to each other, but their nerves get in the way when trying to start conversations. One thing they mutually share is their love for yakuza movies. Miyazen tries to get through to Matsubayashi by referencing these films, yet Matsubayashi misinterprets her intentions in the most embarrassing of ways instead. As the two awkward teens stumble their way through every conversation, a blossoming friendship seems more probable than ever. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
This is a really good romcom that I would recommend to any enjoyer of the genre. It's a lot of fluff and there is like 0 drama so if you want some spice or something then this is not for you I guess. Anyways, the series focuses on a prim and proper girl(not really but that's how ml describes here) and a delinquent boy(but not really), and they have differing interests but are both interested in each other and try to get closer to each other. Unfortunately at the start this is kind of mixed in success, but then they get closer and it's good. The series is very cute, and if this seems like something that would interest you I recommend it. Though if you don't like this type of manga which is probably most people then move on I guess, which is why this has like a 7/10 I suppose (its 10/10 in my heart)
This manga is about the romance between a former delinquent named Matsubayashi and ojou-sama named Miyazen. Everyone is afraid of Matsubayashi because of how he looks and his rough mannerisms, but he’s a nice guy at heart. Miyazen on the other hand is admired due to her elegant mannerisms and kindness, though she’s actually pretty naive and klutzy. The manga begins with both of them wanting to get closer to each other, but due to their differences not really being able to communicate properly. This miscommunication isn’t the type that results in any forced drama. Rather, there isn’t any forced drama at all. The manga iscomposed purely of comedy and light romantic fluff without anything too intense. The comedy is decent all the way through. The romantic fluff starts off somewhat weak, but develops nicely as their relationship grows. Their relationship also grows at a good pace without any issues or complications. And ultimately, the manga reaches a satisfying and definitive conclusion. The art is somewhat plain, but works well enough and both of them come across well. tl;dr: Nothing all that striking, but a pretty solid simple and easy rom-com.
From reading the web novel (41 chapters) and then moving to the official serialised edition (62), Miss Miyazen is a lovely drama free romance between two goofballs. Each chapter is short and swift (2-5 pages) but packed full of wholesome and cute moments of misunderstandings, care & development. The aforementioned may get old for some but unlike extended series with longer chapters, Miss Miyazen continues to progress the Duo's friendship & relationship with each chapter. Despite the potential for continued chapters exploring a post school relationship, it has a fitting conclusion in the serialised edition, thanks to the extra chapters, added context & additional panels thatdisplay origins of the duo’s interest in each other. The same can't be said for the web comic’s (41) abrupt conclusion due to the absence of the aforementioned. Miss Miyazen is a solid wholesome experience that should have you smiling and grinning throughout; if that's the type of romance manga you're looking for, I highly recommend the title but if you want anything deeper or more dramatic, it's not for you.
