I'm aware I rated this a bit higher than the average, and that's because I was actually super interested in it. I'd say it's slightly better than your average high school romcom. It has a somewhat unique premise, art style is...alright, nothing to drive home about, and the characters I found to be funny. I'll say though, if there's any manga that's pretty good at making the reader's heart skip a beat, it's this one. It's on the level of a shoujo manga almost in that sense. It might've gone on a bit too long at some points, but it was still good. The sidecharacters in this story were easily forgettable, making it drag on since the only engaging characters were the main ones. It's nowhere near the horror of Rent-A-Girlfriend, though. I think with this one, I'm going to start rating different aspects of manga and giving them a score out of ten, to show what my feelings are a little better. The first number is my rating, the second number is what I think the average reader would rate it. I'll come back later and edit this and my other reviews if I have more categories. Worldbuilding: 9/10 Story: 8/10 Writing: 9/10 Art: 7/10 Main Characters: 9/10 Side Characters: 6/10 Ending: 9/10
It is the start of yet another day in the Takashiro household, and Kouta Takashiro is gently but firmly roused from sleep by his personal maid, Meika Kujou. It has been a year since Meika started working for Kouta in exchange for an old favor extended to her by his father. This is all well and good, but it also means that Kouta lives alone with a girl who is a classmate at school and a maid at home! Meika rarely loses her professional touch when it comes to assisting Kouta, but lately, she has been slipping up all too often. Sadly, Kouta is far too dense to be aware of Meika's feelings—which are proving to be increasingly difficult to contain. Every time Meika's heart begins to race in anticipation, Kouta manages to disappoint her by failing to take a hint. However, hopeful as she is, Meika herself refuses to acknowledge her feelings toward Kouta. Nonetheless, one's true emotions can only be restrained for so long—and Meika and Kouta's time spent denying their feelings is slowly but surely running out. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
