Muto and Sato

Mutou to Satou follows the story of a girlish boy, who wants to learn how to be more manly and a Tomboy girl who wants to be called "cute" rather than "cool". Characters 10/10 - The characters absolutely carry this manga. There's no unnecessary drama, only a bit for the sake of some comedic situations and especially the male lead just blurts out what he thinks, honestly with a straight face, which I found to be very refreshing! All characters are nice, likeable and most of all very different extremes, which are a great setup for most jokes in the manga. Graphics 7/10 - Nothing out ofthe ordinary. The manga goes with a more simple, quirky style and not with a hyperrealistic one, which honestly fits the quirky theme well. I wouldn't read it for the visuals, but nothing to complain about either. Story 8/10 - Contains very minor spoilers ahead: The pace at which the main relationsship progresses isn't the fastest, but I would still say the tempo is realistic and if it had gone any faster we would have missed out on a lot of the funny jokes the series had to offer, so I'm fine with that. And the story has an actual ending. Comedy 10/10 - I certainly have a weakness for gags where every person means well, but it ends in chaos due to some misunderstanding or something alike or characters just being 110% over the top of their character trait. These are not the only type of jokes in this manga, but they make up a decent part and honestly there wasn't a single gag in the series, which didn't vibe with me at all. All in all, this doesn't revolutionize the genre, but if romcoms with a focus on comedy are up your alley, definitely give this one a read!
