As someone with a worsening medical condition, this story was a suckerpunch to the heart. To be objective: >The art is pretty >The characters don't have a ton of personality but also aren't grating, and are suitable vehicles for this story. >The writing is excellent, if you can ignore how the characters occasionally muse about philosophers, physics, and the time-space continuum in dense and absolutely unrealistic detail. Because of that there's a few pages I skimmed or mostly skipped to get around the smarter-than-thou textbook dialogue, but in the end it doesn't detract much from the main narrative. This story, at times, wants to be very intellectual (too intellectual, really). But at it's core it wants to move you, and it wants to paint an emotional story about teens trying to find meaning in both the world and their relationships. Teens are probably the best audience for this, but I think most people can appreciate this story. If you're a medically fragile person like me, it might wreck you emotionally. Sometimes that's exactly the kind of story we need.
Kouji Aiba has been living a school life unrelated to girls until a strange phenomenon called “loss time” occurs, where time stops for only one hour per day. In such a still world, Kouji wants to regain his youth after meeting a young girl named Tokine Shinomiya, who has a scarlet eye that can move during loss time when she is stopped. In a world where only two people move, the distance gradually decreases, and eventually, Kouji's feelings for Tokine change to first love. But Tokine seems to have a big secret that obstructs her thoughts. (Source: MU)
"This hurts like but I keep telling my self but I keep telling my self it's gonna get better" - Lany This lyrics from this song popped it my mind right away. There is nothing I could wish more from this manga to see them smile happily and her out of the bed and maybe married and have kids and just smile. This was his first love and it's too tragic but it wouldn't that much fun if it wasn't his first. He was still new to this and seeing his first love in pain and having limited, that hurts like hell. It's Kinda inspiring thathe didn't go crazy or too depressed but instead he made it an inspiration to become a doctor and treat her. Story 1000/10 Wish I could give more. Sadly I still can't read Japanese so I read a unofficial translation but I would definitely buy it I could. No problem on the story. I'm not good at stuff like this so at first I skipped chapter 7 to the end immediately but after that tear jerker ending I read it again and made me cry but no tears came out. Art 9/10 I don't really have problems with art I liked it, I can be picky in art. I don't like the usual style for shoujo manga. But I loved their art, It's good, very good. Definitely Not the Best or close to it but It also is above average. Characters 9/10 Just wished they gave others some more spot light but I know it's short so it's okay Enjoyment 110000000/10 Don't have anymore to say if you want to know how I enjoyed it read the manga Itself
Hatsukoi Losstime really did a good job with how the "loss time" thing worked so that it wasn't too confusing and was well paced. The drama wasn't too heavy in the small amount of the 9 chapters of this manga so it was just right for this type of romance story. The art really brought the entire manga together, it made it more fun to read. There were some holes in the story that were never really explained, but it didn't really affect it too much so it didn't matter I guess...The story was kind of predictable though since there has beenlots of others with a similiar premise like this and it was basically hinted at in the early chapters. . Overall, it was good (to me of course), I enjoyed reading it.
