this manga is pretty fun and cute, but i was really underwhelmed with the development. since it's a yuri and it's related to music, i had huge expectations on this. i think the chatacters are pretty captivating and likable, but the relationship between the MCs was kinda... unnatural. like i couldn't grasp how they developed their feelings, specially hibiki's. it felt really out of place, which is unfortunate because i love them as characters. as a couple i don't see a lot of chemistry, mainly because of how their romantic relationship was built. this is my only issue with this work, overall it was agreat read, really fun, so i would recommend to anyone who likes this type of manga.
Shy first-year high school student Minato Asano has managed to keep to her resolve of avoiding unnecessary interactions with others. But this resolve becomes all for naught the moment she hears a random melody within the grounds of a school not known for having a music club; the source of the sound is the bubbly second-year Hibiki Sugawa, who has actively sought out Minato to get the easily-flustered girl to join her new concert club. Finding that the drummer will not take no for an answer, Minato is persuaded to bring her trombone and meet the other band members: bass guitarist Chika Inagaki; flutist Sakiko Arita; and Ema Nonaka, who occasionally drops by with her skills on the saxophone, guitar, and piano. Though wary of the group at first, Minato slowly finds herself opening up to people once more as she casually jams with Hibiki and the other members. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
A decent read. However, it felt like there was a lot left unfinished, like the author had bigger ideas than would fit into a short series like this. The characters were interesting and I really liked their designs. But, it felt like they were each so complex that the short length of the series just didn't do them justice in letting the reader experience their stories and really see them grow. Don't get me wrong, we do see character development throughout, it just did not quite reach a satisfying conclusion. The main romance felt a little forced, or just didn't flow naturally. The more interesting romance wasthe secondary relationship (trying to avoid spoilers by not naming names). That secondary romance was not given the full circle it deserved, and felt like it was just inserted a bit haphazardly, and that's unfortunate because I would've loved to read more about it with how unique and complex it was. The art was very good. I loved the way the characters were drawn and their designs were each unique and loveable. Overall, a decently enjoyable read, just didn't reach its full potential the way I think it could have.
This manga was a really fun read. The relationship between the main characters, Minato and Hibiki, is super cute. Minato has a ton of social anxiety and low self-esteem whereas Hibiki is optimistic and really draws Minato out of her shell. The art is a little bit stylistic when it comes to the characters but that's not a bad thing by any means. Minato's character design and constant hunched posture match her personality particularly well. The mangaka seems to play music based on one of the afterwards and the love of music the characters feel is really transferred through the page. The side characters are also quiteenjoyable. If anything I wish we had gotten more time with them, particularly when it came to Chika and Arita who get a few chapters devoted to their side story. Overall this is a light and fluffy yuri I would definitely recommend.
I'm so...underwhelmed. It's difficult to read a 3 volume manga and feel like its so long, and then finish it feeling absolutely nothing? I was super excited for this manga. It has an art style and character designs that are unique and extremely pretty to read through. The characters alone are interesting and have room to grow. And yet, the chemistry between them is super lacking, not very romantic, and don't get any real growth. The side couple is eternally more interesting and I REALLY enjoyed them, but they get minimal page time after their brief flashback, and no real conclusion. It's so strange. Thisseries literally skips all of the good parts you are rooting and reading it for. You won't feel satisfied by the end of it. I don't wanna be a negative nancy, there are some beautiful scenes and a true appreciation for music in these pages. It just ended so fast and yet dragged everywhere else. It's disappointing!
Here I am once again to share my thoughts on another delightful romance I recently delved into, and this one happened to be a brief yet charming read. In my view, music and romance harmonize seamlessly because music has the power to convey the most genuine emotions, surpassing the limitations of mere words. Hence, this concise tale featuring two girls who venture into the realm of a music club is undeniably pleasing and heartwarming. With a refreshingly simple narrative that steers clear of convoluted plots or melodramatic twists, the spotlight shines brilliantly on the characters and the world of music. It was truly heartening to witness the maincharacter finding solace and enjoyment in the melodies she creates. In essence, this manga is a delightful choice for an afternoon read.
