Story - 7 -------- Short, good, fun story. I liked the concept of being trapped in a horror movie. Summer/Protag was relatively likeable. Nice ending as well. Art - 7 -------- Pretty good art, not absolutely outstanding but it was nice to look at and kinda unique. Not overwhelmingly detailed but also not incredibly simple. Character - 7 --------Likeable characters, all fun characters that I wouldn't mind seeing more of if this was ever a series. Not super unique character designs, considering it's supposed to be stereotypical horror movie characters. Enjoyment - 7.5 -------- I enjoyed this one-shot, finished it pretty quickly. Definitely a short story I would recommend someone check out. Overall - 7 --------- This manga one-shot gets a overall score of 7. It is a pretty solid one shot that would make an interesting series as well. I wouldn't mind this being adapted into an OVA, either. Check this out, especially if you like Horror movies.
In slasher horrors, the first to die is always the promiscuous girl. Whether it be in the midst of intercourse or as she is taking a bath, the movie takes the chance to show off her body, and then shamelessly kills her in a bloody and ruthless fashion. A young man in modern-day Japan wakes up in the body of Summer, one of five main characters in the movie "18th Day Sacrifice." Unfortunately, Summer is the exact type of character who dies first: a sexy and experienced woman. Though the world seems out to kill her, Summer resolves to survive till dawn breaks and be the final girl to remain alive. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
If you're a fan of slasher horror films then this manga is for you. Here we see generic tropes that most slasher movies follow, from having a group of teens on vacation in a summer beach house to having a silent knife-wielding psycho. The story starts with this guy reading about Tips on surviving a horror movie, seconds later he is isekaid into a horror movie scenario. There are comedic moments that might seem familiar to you if you're a horror fan. Both the art and the characters are pretty good, the story is simple yet enjoyable. Overall, if you are a fan of horror filmsthen this is a must-read. Even if you're not, give it a try it's a quick read of only around 40 pages.
Final Girl is a very average one-shot. It takes slasher cliches and delivers exactly what those cliches imply. Although the concept isn’t anything new, the overall structure and flow were solid enough to read through. It has no redeeming qualities worth highlighting. The characters are forgettable, the twists are predictable, and nothing really stands out. It feels more like a practice draft than a serious attempt at storytelling. Honestly, I’m only writing this because I made a rule to write something after completing a manga. Otherwise, I wouldn't even bother with this one.So, why did I read it in the first place? Well, it’s a one-shot and that cover probably explains everything, right? Hopefully, this meets MAL’s minimum character requirement.
