If you go into this manga knowing it got discontinued before it really goes anywhere, you will find the start to an interesting story with multiple smaller subplots vying for attention, and the promise of an interesting series within the light novels. However regardless of if you going into this knowing it got discontinued or not, you will inevitably be utterly blue-balled by the ending that occurs long before the beginning of the game the MC talks about, with them seemingly still all in the first few months of the first year of grade school, with YEARS to go before the game's start date. However, regardless ofit's discontinued status, this is a very two note series. The MC is a small girl who likes guns and does cute interpersonal drama, and the MC is trying to avoid someone getting closer to them while fate seems to be shoving them together. And that's kinda the main two jokes the series has, and I feel that's to it's detriment. There's a lot more potential here for storytelling with properly managed time skips or dialogue between people that just kinda doesn't happen. Much of what we learn about the various side characters are told to us in their first appearance, sometimes even their first *panel*, and that definitely ruins the vibe a bit. The side tangent about her being an adventurers assistant also feels forced in to adhere to tropes regarding being reincarnated into fantasy worlds, and while it provides more interesting combat than anything else, it still feels forced, especially with the age of the protagonist making it all very strange they let her do that. Ultimately though this is a series made for one type of fan, and if you are that type well, you've probably already read the LNs and just wanted to see some artwork.
Astrid von Oldenburg is no ordinary four-year-old. She's a child prodigy with a passion for military technology who now finds herself reincarnated in the world of an otome game she played during her past life. But not as the heroine! As the game's villainess, she's born with wealth, power, and a fearsome talent for magic. The only problem is that every route leads to her inevitable destruction. Or does it? What if averting her destruction was a simple matter of amassing enough firepower to annihilate anyone who dared even attempt to bring her down?! In a bid to resist fate, the young villainess embarks on the reproduction of all of her favorite weaponry. Whatever it takes, Astrid's determined to blow away her bad ends with superior firepower!
