This manga is about Lecan, an adventurer from a fantasy world, that enters a portal and is pulled into a different fantasy world. While there certainly are differences that require Lecan to get accustomed to the new world, ultimately both are pretty similar. Thus, he doesnât have too much of a hard time getting back into the swing of things being an adventurer. This is no small part due to how Lecan is pretty powerful by the standards of the world he gets pulled into. This certainly isnât like isekais featuring overpowered protagonists, but at the same time Lecan is competent enough that as areader you expect him to be on top of things regardless of the circumstances. Lecan overall is a pretty interesting character. Heâs very cold in a sense in that heâs always on guard and tries to reveal as little about himself as possible. But at the same, heâs a pretty good guy all things considered, and itâs not like his emotions donât shine through at all. His likes and dislikes especially. Especially his love for adventure, which is his primary driving force throughout the manga. He doesnât have any sort of overarching goal other than exploring, defeating monsters, and growing more powerful. But thatâs all a good adventurer needs, so he comes across as pretty likable. Unfortunately, that isnât enough to keep the overarching story interesting. Lecan goes on various adventures and takes on various quests. But theyâre all really small scale and ultimately have very little lasting impact. Thereâs world building, but it doesnât really seem to actually be building towards anything. There are side characters that have their own stories, but theyâre all incredibly simplistic and not enough to get invested in them. There are no big twists or especially emotional moments. Itâs all somewhat flat. The manga ends at the of what is just another adventure pretty much. One that doesnât really stand out much at all compared to any of the others in the manga. I suppose the manga was axed and thus there was no avoiding that. Still, I canât say I was dissatisfied with the manga. Itâs pretty short, only three volumes long. Even if the substance isnât that great, it flows well enough and has art that isnât all that visually appealing but fits the story pretty well, and thus this manga was an okay read. tl;dr: A manga that has a pretty dull story, but has an interesting enough protagonist to hold it up somewhat for itâs short length.
On a fervent quest to become stronger: the heroic tales of the adventurer Lecan start! The One-Eyed Wolf Lecan, jumped into a black hole he found in the confines of a labyrinth, falling into another world. No matter the world he is in, the adventurer Lecan doesn't lose his way. Seeking strength, challenging labyrinths, and defeating formidable foes: this is the stout fantasy! (Source: Kadokawa, translated)
Absolutely love the protag of this story. A quiet badass but not over the top. I really wish the Manga was longer though. It stops so suddenly. The story and art is amazing, I just wish it had been longer. Of course, you can continue the story with the novel but I'll miss the art. A solid 8 though. Probably higher if it were a longer Manga and if there were more mention of his previous world. There's the occasional mention of his previous world throughout the story but never really indepth, I also don't really know who the other person is at the beginning besides beinga friend of the protag. I'm sure it's further explored in the Novel but not in the Manga.
