This manhwa has terrible synopses, so I will offer a basic breakdown: There exist magical beings called witches, who have the power to travel through across both time and different dimensions/worlds. The "grandma" witch (who happens to look like a young girl, because trope, and because these witches do not age) orders the younger witches to travel to different time periods and/or worlds in the pursuit of love with human beings. However, witches have a strange concept of love, at least in the eyes of a human. They can manifest the obsessiveness of human love, but do not understand empathy nor the worth of human life. This manhwaexplores the romances of each witch, which all spiral around this central concept (though there is one exception, which I'll get to). Personally, I was only invested in the romances of Philippa and Lily, because they felt the most human. In other words, I liked how they developed human understanding through their experiences with love, while all the other witches basically stopped at the first step of questionable obsession and didn't really develop much else. Philippa is the redhead you see in the cover and is the first witch whose romance we see. Her story is the most fleshed out, which contributes to her being my favorite witch. After her main arc, you have to read the last side story if you want closure, since the manhwa never returns to her story in between. What about Lily? Well, technically Lily isn't a witch. She's actually Philippa's familiar (basically a magical companion, in this case a cat in a human-like form). Because she isn't a witch, her romance never really has that overbearing phase of obsession, so it is easier to read and connect with. Overall, I give this manhwa an 8 because I wasn't invested in all of the characters, as I explained above. Also, be aware that it contains a fair amount of both fanservice and blood.
In these times, if you're too good or bad at something or simply too beautiful, you're called a witch. Up against twists of fate and time, an outcast young boy and a mysterious witch will need more than just magic spells and incantations; they'll need each other. (Source: Tappytoon)
Positive: The feelings it gave me... after finishing the second season i did nothing but space out for the rest of the day thinking to myself. I know this novel isn't for everyone and that saddens me knowing that but you should still give it a try to see if you're one of those few who'll fall in love with this novel. negative: i like how the story shows side character's different perspectives (the other witches) and have their own story & life but most of the side characters aren't as interesting as the main characters except one of them and it does feel like a filler chapter attimes but thankfully they are short.
I feel like the synopsis does not give enough insight for this story, which could be a turn away point for some, but I guess having lots of knowledge from the get go would take the fun out of it. Story: 10/10 I didn't particularly care about the other witches' relationships and love stories. I spent less time analyzing the chapters with them as the main focus. Though I found Cordelia, Phillipa, and Lily's stories very enjoyable. Characters: 9/10 I found the majority of the characters very lovable despite the flaws that were presented with them. The characters have personalities!!Art: 8.5/10 The art perfectly matches with the story. Sometimes the proportions look out of place, with the female character's huge chests and seriously tiny waist, but other than that the art is absolutely beautiful. Enjoyment/Overall: 10/10 It took a bit to go through the series, but the reread value is very high. This Witch of Mine is probably one of my favourite manhwa to date. This story is a slow emotional roller coaster with many ups and downs, but the payoff at the end is satisfying enough. I'm sure some people might not be a fan, but even so I'd recommend giving it a try. It does not have the attention it deserves.
This Manhwa doesn’t have any right being this good. Let me be clear, I am a hopeless romantic and a story about outcast witches and young boys finding solace in their differences is right up my alley. That being said it is the raw emotion from each character that carries this story. This is the first review where I’ll not divulge into detail on the plot because I had a hard time following everything somewhat. I’m not sure if I read a weird translation for the series but I could barely understand the broken english written page to page. I did however understand the meaning both storiestold in the first 28 chapters and have to say; although it’s dramatized it’s one of the most heartfelt ones I’ve read. Also the pacing is actually tremendously well done. Usually for me Manhwa have a tendency of being chaotic but not here. I’m biased but please read this. It’s phenomenal.
