This is a truly unique manga. At first it seems like your typical horror manga, but near the end, it actually turns very sad. I really enjoyed reading this manga {and to be honest, I did cry a bit near the end}. Again, if you can't handle gore, then this still really isn't for you. But it is a very good manga, and I recommend it :3 This one is alot easier to find then most Hino Hideshi works.
The synopsis might be a little misleading. I went in expecting a full-on violent, hate-ridden revenge story but that wasn't exactly what I got. And this is a good thing. I grew fonder of the baby by the page, and her motivations shown in the synopsis differ a little from what they really are. You can feel sympathetic for this character regardless of her appearance. The story is, as weird as it may sound, sweet. Amidst all the terrible things she experienced and did, the life she had to lead, and even having the concept of revenge in her mind, she kept her innocence and good naturethroughout the story. I think it's interesting to think about these aspects because we rarely empathize with the ugly or scary, but the author gave her so much innocence and sweetness, especially on the first half of the story, that it's really hard not to connect with her (she wasn't even as ugly in my eyes by the time I finished reading). It's a remarkable story, surprisingly sweet and sad. Would recommend.
On a stormy night, twin sisters are born. One of the girls is healthy and normal in every regard—the other is hideously deformed and craves blood rather than milk. The father of the girls is unwilling to accept the deformed twin into his family and so he places her in a sack and disposes of her at a rubbish dump. The baby subsists first on carrion and earthworms and then, later, by hunting the dogs, rats, crows and other animals that inhabit the dump (something she must do regularly since she begins to decompose when she doesn't get a regular supply of blood). After seven years, she leaves the dump and heads for the distant lights of the city—there she will discover that human blood tastes best of all and maybe find out something about the family that abandoned her. I read the first 5 chapters in my native language but chapters weren't complete + translation was bad, so I completed the rest of chapters in english. Anyway here is a simple review: first the art style was unique and good I liked it, in a way human design and their faces in this manga reminded me of some maybe 60th manga art style that I have seen before. so average and repetitive story and events. I didn't feel anything special. The ideas of childhood, motherhood, family, love, beauty, and ugliness were presented in a very ordinary way. I didn't feel any deep meanings or symbolism. I will notgive it Not Recommended because it not that really bad, also I'm sure there are people who might like this manga. specially that it can be read in a one sitting.
