Minor spoiler ahead. (Like really minor, I’m not even sure it’s a spoiler) “Yes, he’s just a fool who is hopelessly in love with you.” Hello? Isn’t that cute? The main character is basic…boring…normal, but really strong mentally. She is basically like all the other isekai female leads only, she actually goes through with her plan to better her life. As we read along, we see that the author took time to show her slowly try to let go of her feelings for Graham instead of automatically making her forget him the next chapter (I’ve noticed a lot of isekais make little of their characters’ original feelingsso I thought I’d add his in). I appreciate that. The fl had feelings for the guy, therefore we actually get to see her struggle with change. The art is basic at best. It’s that one art style almost every reincarnation story uses. Nothing really new going on there.
Most distinctly, Louisa remembers three of her former lives. In each of them, she was the childhood friend and lover of the hero, the hero promised to return for her, and the Demon Lord was defeated—but the hero abandoned her. While Louisa waves off her lover Graham as he ventures off to defeat the Demon Lord, she promises to wait for him. However, she knows more than anything else that he won't return. Not wanting to waste away her youth like in her previous lives, she seeks work in the city where she hopes to meet new friends and perhaps find new love. But not everything is as it seems. Louisa's dreams are plagued by a mysterious girl and a dark-haired man who calls for "Jun." Her continued connection to the hero may not be pure coincidence, and the truth to all of this lies buried deep in her memories of the past. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
This is my first time writing a review. As i looked there were only a few reviews available here so i will add my review for guideline. Beware a little spoiler, eventhough i may wrote it unconsciously. The first few chapters began with common plot. A hero departed for demon lord hunting and his lover wanted to seek for joyful life as she recalled her past three lifes. A comfy-looking fantasy setting manga indeed. I think about second half of the manga, it took turn into a bit dark fantasy. The story had a what we called as foreshadow for a woman and a man figure. Thatswhat made i read for the rest of the manga as i wanna know who they were. The author made a splendid job for arranging the characters and story in nice order. The manga had a bittersweet story, a genre that which quite not many other manga had. I didn't see a plothole in the story, but if it had, it may not affected the story much. The ending was satisfied for me. The art was a candy for my eyes. The story was not too long or too short, which is my forte. I really want this manga to be animated lols. So in short, i recommended to those who seek fantasy setting, hero as mc, plot twist, not have too much action, and isekai.
I really wanted to like this manga, but it simply suffers from how short it is. I don't often complain about a manga being too short, usually my complaint is that they can drag on. However, four volumes simply wasn't enough to explore all the plot elements that were introduced about mid-way through. Since this is only four volumes it suffers from poor pacing, everything happens at break-neck speed. This in turn creates a jarring shift in tone as there simply aren't enough chapters to allow the plot to play out in a natural way. It never feels like it's building to something. it's justa series of things happening before the Big Bad is announced, then everything gets dropped to focus on that. Even then, the explanations feel muddled and rushed. Some world building has clearly gone into this story, so it's a shame that it wasn't given any room to breathe before we were rushed on to the next bit. It felt like visting an art gallery 5 minutes before it closes, there simply wasn't enough time to enjoy all the work put into each piece before dashing off to the next. The characters had no time to really develop, which was a shame. I was rooting for Louise once Graham had left, I wanted to see a sisterly bond develop between Lindsay and Louise, I was intrigued about Diana and Russell's relationship. And most of all I wanted to be swept up in romance once Graham returned home. Were they are groundbreaking study of the human condition? No, but they were fun, sweet and relatable. The fact that I wanted to spend more time with them is testament to just how invested I was. All I can hope for is that this'll get the Sugar Apple Fairytale treatment and be adapted again into a longer running series. Despite this, I would still recommend it for people who want a quick, light, predictable read with likeable characters. If you want something with a bit more emotional weight, with complex relationships then you won't find it here.
