It's not often you come across such well written mature romance stories, much less with yaoi, but this was just perfect in every sense. I swear adult yaoi romances just hit different you'll die with envy on how wonderful some relationships were built on trust, growth, and finding happiness with one another. With this story, you can't help but fall in love with the characters because you can feel deep connections with what they are as a person, and they are not bad people to begin with. It makes you want to root for them forever because they really complement one another. Man, older guysare just on different levels of species especially when it comes to love because they really don't hold back on showing love and affection that while I was reading even I could feel like I'm drowning on those deep kisses and sweet touches he does. So much love for this story and I am really looking forward to the sequel *fingers crossed* <3
One night, right after he was dumped by his boyfriend, a pair of underwear came falling down upon Ise's head. The one who dropped it was a man named Hishimoto, who Ise couldn't seem to ignore, and they end up working together to bring in the laundry that had fallen onto a tree outside his window. After being told by Hishimoto that he would like to thank him, Ise goes up to his place. There, he is told that Hishimoto has been thinking about him, and had used the fallen laundry as an excuse. Further more, Hishimoto then flirts with him, asking if he's interested in older men...?! (Source: Core Magazine, translated)
A beautiful healing relationship overflowing with love. Takafumi is a godly man, and Yuki is just so cute. This couple complements each other so well. This manga made me raise my standards even higher. The communication while not the best first but it gets there. I love the way their relationship had this natural flow to it. The storyline was outstanding, and it was completely free of any force or toxicity. The tenderness. The respect. The fluff. The smut everything was 10/10. If you are feeling like reading a wholesome manga you are in the right place! Ps. Don't forget to read the sequel^^
I am holding this up as an example of how good BL can be. If you, like me, put this off because you were fooled by the horny cover into assuming that this was just PWP β purge the thought from your mind and go read this manga and the sequel. We have seduction. We have a good pace. We have romance. We have consent. We have fantastic art. And βholy shitβ do we have passion. It all starts from a fairly goofy and idealistic scenario, but not one extreme enough to be unrealistic, and progresses at a good, steady pace. The intimate scenes are beautifullydone, too, and Ueda does a wonderful job of conveying Yuuki and Takafumi's emotions and feelings through them. I cannot overstate how good Takafumi is. The man just knows how to seduce. Did he date women until falling for Yuuki? Sure. How does he work out that he's attracted to Yuuki? Actual quote: "It seems that gender doesn't matter very much in my eyes when it comes to love." Beautiful, immaculate. Is he a bit corny sometimes? Oh hell yes, and it's adorable when Yuuki gets flustered about it because he isn't used to being treated with so much care and love by a partner. And Takafumi isn't perfect, either! Despite his age and experience, he still gets insecure and jealous, though it's treated with actual more common sense and realism here, rather than the usual high-drama, zero-brains approach of jealousy in BL. That being said, there are some relationship problems here and there, and it's not all smooth sailing and wholesome fluff. But there is no truly dark or depressing content, and those problems are the mature kind that you see in real life all the time β work getting in the way of private life, struggling to express how you feel, struggling with self worth and feeling like you don't deserve to be happy (not because of your orientation! this isn't one of those "I deserve to be unhappy because I'm not straight" stories!), feeling like you aren't doing enough to show your partner that you care etc. β and it's great to see the characters work through them, on their own and together. Goddamn, I feel like these two volumes destroyed all my expectations for BL to come. I can only hope to find more as good as this story.
